The staff needs more training especially the housekeepers. The breakfast was kind of poor for Holiday Inn standards. Other than that, I am generally satisfied.

Great location, nice hotel but the bed is utterly uncomfortable; it’s a very small double and so so hard.

thank you for your comments rating on your recent stay at holiday inn York city centre. im sorry to see you found the bed small. The beds are a standard 4ft x 6ft, should you require a larger size we can reallocate durig your stay or request a king size

The staff on reception were great (think it was Lora who dealt with me). However, there was a large group of Tourists which the leader of the group thought it her right to stand and chat to staff. Staff were brilliant and night porter on Wednesday 31st was ace (top guy, when it easier to say no to the 3 of us). Complaints would have to be about lifts only (1 lift which was very slow trying to accommodate 4 floors when we left in the morning).

Nice hotel but not suitable if you’re looking for

Requested a family room (2 adults and 2 young children), you basically get a standard room which is normally big enough for 2 adults, once the sofa bed is opened there is no room, even the double bed is moved against the wall to allow the room. What made it worse is that there are floating bedside shelves which overlapped the double bed when moved - very uncomfortable! The sofa bed - wow - this can’t be slept on, all you can feel are the springs! One other thing - no air conditioning- granted this was never advertised but when your packed into a standard room when you believe you’ll get a standard family room, it was very hot through the night. Apart from the above - clean hotel, short walk into the centre - ideal for a couple.

It was a room not an experience

Came through York on a Saturday. Usual hotels were booked but this matched in price so assumed it would match in quality- it didn’t. Carpets shabby and pulling from doorways. Mold in showers and our door didn’t lock. Heating was barely covering the cold - once we got it working. Location was handy and staff was friendly.

Great location

First time in York. Hotel is in a great location to all the main attractions we wanted to visit. Hotel staff was really helpful for getting us parked up as the main car park was full when we arrived. The car park we was appointed to was actually cheaper which was a bonus.
