Lovely centrally located hotel. Quality of food was very good and most of the service was excellent, it was let down at breakfast, when we waited 30 minutes for drinks despite being served breakfast.

Good quality facilities and excellent service.

We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful; we had a minor issue which was fixed immediately and without fuss. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. We would definitely return to the Churchill.

Good location for weekend in city.

No transport needed as you can walk to almost all attractions nearby. Nice mix between modern and nd traditional room with a unique Churchill twist.

Close to town centre

Stayed in the bunker very different to any room we’ve ever stayed in very quirky. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Great hotel 7 minute walk to town centre

Really pleased with the hotel staff were lovely hotel was really close to town centre but far enough away not to be noisy at night.Would definitely stay there again if we venture up that way.

Excellent hotel for exploring York

Location: The Churchill is only 5-10 minutes gentle stroll to the centre of York, with the Minster, City Walls and Railway Museum the same.
For a '3 star hotel' the Churchill is exceptional. A themed hotel based on Churchill and what seem like 'Cabinet rooms' with black or dark walls is actually very effective and gives a lovely feel to the whole place. Family room was plenty big enough for a family of 4 with 2 young children as we were out most of the day anyway. Food was good and not too pricey and the staff were only too happy to help. The room was very clean and had everything one would need for a short break. Whilst not a big hotel there was room to relax in the evening in the bar and lounge area although it was crying out for a large sofa somewhere. It was only a 5/10 minute stroll into the centre of York and all its' activities which kept it away from the main noise although there was a little noise at night from 'passers-by'. Having said that it wouldn't put us off staying again. A very pleasing experience overall.
