Hotel Academia is in the perfect place for visiting Zagreb. VERY close to all sorts of restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing! The provided breakfast is great. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The room itself was very large and the bed was very comfortable. The young man that checked us in late at night was very friendly and welcoming and provided a great experience, as did everyone else we spoke to during our stay. What we didn't like is that there is a weird chemical/mixed with musty smell in the lobby. This also carries into the rooms, and the rooms are carpeted so the humidity and must just linger and provide an unpleasant smell. Also, there is no flat sheet with the bedding so you HAVE to cover youself with the comforter. The comforter wasn't washed and smelled like body odor and was gross. Also, the air conditioning in the room is covered by the desk and so it doesn't really do much to cool the room off.

Great location and great staff. So helpful and place was very clean . Walking distance to shopping and dining street that goes on forever , a trip around the world in cuisine available with gelato and ice cream of course .
