What you can expect

Discover some of the best views of the Sierra Nevada mountains surrounding Granada, and enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the old city from secret viewpoints. On the tour, drive along trails that date back over a thousand years, from the time of the Visigoths and the Arabs.

Following pickup from Granada city centre, travel by 4x4 vehicle towards the towering peaks of the nearby mountains north of the city. Reach an elevation of 2500 meters-8000 feet, for amazing views of the highest peaks in the Iberian peninsula, and enjoy a drink in a panoramic mountain hut. We will have an hour and a half of free time to walk, have lunch (not included in the price), or simply enjoy the views of the highest mountains in the Iberian Peninsula.

Explore the north face of the Sierra Nevadas to see the highest peaks on the Iberian Peninsula, climbing to heights of more than 3,000 metres. Marvel at the amazing landscape, including the highest peak in the Iberian peninsula, Mulhacen which is named after one of the last kings of the Alhambra.
Learn about the geology, biology and history of this region where Romans, Arabs, and Visigods live

  • Gold Roman Mine of Cenes de la Vega: the river that supplies the Alhambra has gold, and the Romans discovered it close to Granada
  • Camino de los Neveros: this was the way of the Moors to go to Sierra Nevada to harvest the ice in the hot summers
  • Genil River: the main river of Sierra Nevada, which source is in the higuest peak in the Iberian Peninsula: Mulhacen
  • Cahorros de Monachil: Beautiful canyon excavated by the Monachil River
  • Mulhacen peak, the highest in Spain main land

It was a fantastic trip! We travelled with a comfortable 4x4 minibus, and our really friendly local guide showed us places where you've never been on your own! Narrow paths and secret points for the best wievs of this area. Delicious smells of the wild plants - thyme, rosemary, sage and others - and you can see the wilderness of the Sierra Nevada: wild goats on the rocks, wild boars in the valley, colorful bee eaters and golden eagles on the sky... It was an unforgettable day!

We had a wonderful guide, Dowa. He was very knowledgeable about the geography of the area and was accommodating to all those on the trip. Trip was only 6 of us, so a nice small group. Wonderful view points along the way, and the weather also behaved which made it even better. Many thanks

The Sierra Nevada trip was excellent. Our guide is very friendly and familiar with the environment along the route, and has thoroughly explained the different landscapes and species at each sight. The mountains were beautiful, and there was a lot of wildlife and plants that formed an incredible experience. You get to get close to nature, learn about the locals/ traditions/ history, and explore Granada from a different angle. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our guide Daude (sorry if there is a mistake) was very friendly and full of stories … As our hotel was not in Grenada, he collected us in another place on the way to Sierra Nevada which was much more easier than park our car in city center … 👍 Very nice moments in wild landscape … We recommend 😉

The trip was such a lovely mix of local knowledge, beautiful sites and views, information about the landscape and history that it's hard to pick just one great element - it was all superb.
