Shell Station House is a pet-friendly home that is perfect for families wanting a comfortable & relaxing Folly Beach vacation house that is walkable distance to the beach (4 blocks) and the restaurants & shops on Center Street (1.5 blocks). This house features a wrap-around deck with teak dining furniture, a screened-in porch, a spiral staircase connecting the three floors of the home, cheerful beachy-themed decor and a family room with board games, large screen TV and plenty of room for your kids to play. Built in 1976, this eclectic charmer has even been the inspiration for a famed photographer whose photos are featured in a book about Folly Beach! Best of all, the Shell Station House is surrounded with lots of lush trees & shrubs and is a quick walk to Bert's Market, Folly Beach's 24/7 convenience store.

Guests enter the Shell Station House by walking up the exterior stairs to the deck and front door. Once you enter the front door, you will find the kitchen; a fireplace & dining area that comfortably seats 6 people; a living room with cable TV; patio door access to the screened-in porch; the master bedroom; a guest bedroom with sliding door access to the deck; and a bathroom with walk-in shower. Guests then use the centrally-located spiral stairs to climb to the third floor loft & guest bedroom with en suite half bathroom or reach the family room, bathroom (with a beautifully tiled walk-in shower) and laundry room on the basement level of the home. Off-street parking on the driveway for up to 3 cars is included in the rental rate.

Just 15 miles from downtown Charleston, Folly Beach is its own universe - with its own sense of time, enjoyment, and a laidback, family-friendly energy that has earned it the lifelong affection of locals and visitors alike. Great family time/Friends wedding time

10th Bday getaway
We chose the Shell House for a weekend getaway to celebrate our twin sons’ 10th birthday. They loved the house, the arcade and foosball table were particular hits. All was clean and we were even welcomed with a gift! We enjoyed the sights and tastes of the town, the neighborhood is far enough off the main strip to be quiet, but close enough to walk to everything. We ca on the deck one evening watching stars. It was truly a magical weekend. Steven and Sara were very communicative and responsive. We were provided lots of information prior to our arrival which helped us feel at ease, and able to just enjoy ourselves! Highly recommend this home!

It was a great place to stay. Best stocked kitchen of any place we have stayed in the past. Convenient location. Only inconvenience was only one person could take a shower at a time. Water pressure would drop too low for both showers to work simultaneously. We would stay again if we had the chance.

Another Fantastic Stay!!!!
It was another great week at Shell Station. We had stayed the week of Christmas and when looking for a vacation spot for the late summer, there was no question where we would stay. The house is great for families with a lot of activities on site. It's also a quick walk to the beach, the pier, and the eats, drinks and shops. The hosts are extremely welcoming and make you feel at home. It's a definite winner!

Place was great with a lot of character. Close to the beach and Center St. We weren't there for the bar scene but that didnt get in our way. We could hear the bands but they werent disruptive. Sprial stair case is not for everyone (including our 35 lb dog). Great place.

The property was great and came just as advertised. Great location, just a few blocks from the main strip, from Bert's groceries, and from the beach. The house was clean and in great shape. No problems other than the Wifi going out on us one day, but management was quick to help us get it back online. There was a bit of a musty smell in the basement, but that was it.

Christmas at Shell Station House
My family and I had a wonderful stay during the week of Christmas. The house was perfect as we visited our sailor attending NNPTC. There are so many unique features of the home, from the spiral staircase to the LP collection. Everything we needed was right there. The beach is a quick five-minute walk. The Folly Beach pier and Main Street area are just as close. And you can be on the Battery in Charleston in 25 minutes. I imagine the house is even more enjoyable during the summer months. Definitely worth the trip. Thanks for sharing your home!

Perfect location. Short walk to grocery store, beach and many cool restaurants. Loved the island vibe. Easy drive to Charleston. Home was clean and comfortable and had a fun, colorful decor. The Shell House was very comfortable and the layout and design of the house was very unique. It was easy to get to the beach which a definite plus! There was a issue with the internet but it Steve responded quickly and it was resolved as was an issue with a light switch (my misunderstanding🙂) Someone came within minutes to help! Our large groups had such an awesome time in this house. We had all the space we could have needed for little ones to nap and older kids to enjoy themselves. The location is STELLAR. Mere minutes of a walk away from everything we needed. So sad to leave, but excited to come back next year! Truly and unforgettable vacation.

Perfect place to stay at our favorite beach.
We had 5 family members young adults and parents, and the shell house was more than comfortable...would probably be comfortable for up to 8 people. We enjoyed the layout and amenities - walking to the close by restaurants and picking up groceries at Berts to grill for a couple of meals as well. The house has many seating areas for fun - games in the main living room, and in the downstairs game room. Even our 21, 22 and 23 year olds enjoyed the vinyl and CD collection provided with the house stereo system. The quirkiness of some of the home features added to it's charm for us. Absolute biggest plus is the location: very short walk to Bert's, Taco Feo, the main strip of restaurants and bars and, of course - the beach!!! We are already planning our return.

Perfect Getaway
Wanted a place for an epic weekend with friends and wife deep sea fishing. This definitely did not disappoint. Check in was flawless. The place had everything you could need and then some. Except for the quick 15 minutes to our chartered deep sea boat we walked the entire weekend to restaurants, bars, grocery store and the beach. The truck never left the driveway. Thank you so much for your home!!! EPIC!!!! (By the way, we caught 700 pounds of mahi and a 250 pound blue marlin!!)

Came to Charleston / Folly Beach to visit our son who is at CofC. House was comfortable and located perfectly from beach and food, shopping activities. Kids spent hours playing foosball and the family played a mean game of Clue. Simply a great stay.
