Disappointed
The sign was broken in rhe front yard the house smell like musty mold the fountain didn’t work the gazebo had poison ivy growing inside it. The balconies were not accessible because of a rotting wood and a leak on the back patio that had caution tape around it. In the morning there were hundreds of ants all over the countertop and inside our food. We had to throw it away. We paid way way too much for house. I was embarrassed for my family to stay there with us. Fior as much as we paid it should have been a lot nicer. Looks like the 90s exposed in there. . Needs updated. Stains on the ceiling tiles.

Family Togetherness
I rented this property to provide a close environment during a tragic time. But I think that it would be great for a fun vacation to visit all the local attractions and have a family reunion.

Family Reunion Weekend
The house needs LOT of TLC. It's clean, for sure. But it doesn't look like any updates have been done to this property since the 90's. The beds are new but there is not one mirror in either of the 6 bedrooms so for a potential houseful of 12 people, the two old bathrooms are extremey inadequate. At least a mirror in each bedroom would allow you to finish in your bedroom and vacate the bathroom for others. The kitchen appears to have refreshed cabinet doors but the boxes are ancient. The Keurig was good to have for a crowd. The roof needs replacing and the widow's walk is about to just collapse. The living room nor the foryer light shuts off. The water controls in the bathtubs are wonky and need finess to work them. However, the owners are very attentive and came right over when one of the bedroom doors wouldn't open. Really nice couple responds to any and all correspondence.

Needs a little love
This house has so much potential, but it for sure needs some help to get it there. The owner was very helpful, from helping us shut off the alarm when we arrived or helping us when the hot water was not working. The overall house was okay. There were dead bugs spread all over throughout the house & the floor is constantly damp. There is not a lot of seating area outside of the kitchen. They did do a good job of making sure they left snacks, enough towels, and even a toothbrush for everybody.

Beautiful house in need of some upkeep and amenities
The setting is beautiful and an easy drive to many local attractions. The Tolliver House is large and comfortable - should easily accomodate 12 people. There are 6 sleeping rooms and the mattresses and bedding were excellent quality. BUT - there was only 1 sofa in the LR and seating for 6 in the kitchen. There are very pleasant porches in front and back, only minimal seating. The host was gracious enough to bring us 4 metal folding chairs to supplement as we had 10 people, but metal folding chairs are not comfortable. It would be very helpful to have at least one place to sit in each BR. All rooms except the kitchen were lit by overhead lights only, no reading lamps in BRs, nor in the LR. Some BRs had no closet, but a hanging rack was provided - with 1 or 2 hangers. There were no written instructions for how to use the remotes for the TVs (1 in every BR). The kitchen was fairly well equipped other than the lack of chairs and a table really only large enough for 6. Nice refrigerator and separate freezer with 2 broken ice trays. There was also an icemaker but it did not work and was moldy. We also had a visitor in the pantry who managed to chew into a bag of chocolate chips. Nice feature was laundry closet in kitchen, also snack foods to welcome us. Most times when we stay in a large house like this, there are books (take 1, leave 1) and games provided. This could be a spectacular venue but it needs alot of up dating and more amenities.

Great stay for a large family for Thanksgiving
We loved the Tolliver mansion for our family's Thanksgiving. The kitchen was well stocked and there were more than enough bedrooms. There is not a large dining room or communal area, but the gazebo made a great place to gather and eat.

Quiet area very peaceful home close to LMU. Typical wear and tear of a 100 year old home. Comfy beds, plenty of hot water, generous snacks, TP, and water bottle provided. Bring a blow dryer if needed. Kitchen has all the basics but the toaster was broken and the garbage disposal. Lots of rooms and space for a large family. Beautiful settting.

Great Place to Gather
The house is as described - it is not a 5 star hotel, however it deserves 5 stars for what it does offer. It is comfortable and was perfect for what we needed. We had breakfast and dinner that both days and the kitchen was well stocked. The mini fridges in each room are a nice addition along with the supply of snacks and k cups in the kitchen. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for offering a cool place with history.

Beautiful house with nice yard and porches. Struggled finding proper light switches in some rooms and could not figure out how to turn off the living room fixture. Could have used more flatware and serving spoons. The rooms were nice, a . comfortable house for a family gathering of eleven..

Great place ! Our family was able to have privacy as well as to gather together. Our grandson married in Middlesboro. The bride and groom spent their wedding night in the cabin. Worked out wonderfully. It's an old house with updates.

Quiet and peaceful times!
Everything was as listed and in working order. One small complaint is the central air conditioning doesn't cool off the entire house, only certain rooms were cool. The thermostat never went below 78, regardless what you set it on. Other than that, the house was fantastic. We greatly appreciate the hospitality and the chance to stay at the Tolliver Manor.

Trip to Kentucky
House was ok for our purposes to have a place to sleep for 5 of us coming to the trip. We enjoyed the coffee island, but could have used more stuff in kitchen like table to sit and gather in, regular coffee maker, pots, pans and dishes and working stove. Bedrooms and bathrooms were great. The small loghouse in the yard was occupied by others while our group stayed on main house. Heikki

Super cute
We had a wonderful stay. We met some of our family there, and with a combination of kids and adults, everyone was happy. The kids all called it a "mansion" and we loved being able to imagine the history of this beautiful home. We enjoyed walking the property and sitting in the gazebo, and it is located conveniently close to hiking in Cumberland Gap. The host was very quick to respond to any questions or issues we had. We would stay here again!
