All good things come to an end eventually!
We have stayed at sugar sands several times. When we stayed there in 2011 for our honeymoon it was wonderful. We stayed several times after for family vacation. We stopped staying there the past few years because the price became very expensive. This time was our 13 year anniversary and it was off season and very reasonably priced so we tried it again. Not what we expected. 1St off our room wasn't ready when we got there at 4:30 pm. We didn't get to check in until 6:30 pm. They informed us that they are short staffed... understandable.
Upon entering the room we were greeted with the stench of alcohol. Lightbulbs missing. The only switch for lights for the whole place was in the hall bunk bed area.. weird. 2 dim lights in the bedroom with a switch on the bedside table. We used our 📲 to find them. There was a 3 ft bubble on the ceiling where I guess there was a leak above. The ceiling above the bunk beds was black/grey and flaking all over the top bunk. We weren't using it anyways. The ceiling in the bathroom was black and moldy above the shower, but the rest of the bathroom was new. The equipped kitchen had very little accessories. It used to be very accommodating. Once bought out and ran by new owners/ resort the condition is deteriorating quickly. We stayed and made the best of the situation. The beach there is quite and beautiful. Probably won't go back again .
