Union Road Schoolhouse-Unique History and Updated Elegance in Wine Country!

Union Road Schoolhouse presents a unique Paso Robles experience, building on its history as one of the first rural schoolhouses in the Paso Robles area, combined with its re-imagining as an elegant hacienda with dramatic high ceilings, gourmet kitchen, downstairs game and TV room, and three acres of fenced, rural privacy. Original schoolhouse configuration leads to a grand upstairs great room and hallway with original hardwood flooring. To master bedroom suite, featuring a king bed, with outdoor deck access, and en-suite bathroom with soaking tub add a level up in luxury. Three downstairs bedrooms complete the sleeping spaces, with a hall bathroom offering walk-in shower and soaking tub. You'll find an additional half-bath off game room for added convenience. Outdoor amenities abound, as well, with outdoor pizza oven, BBQ, multiple dining and seating areas, including the charming, shaded gazebo. Indoor fun includes large flat-screen TV and foosball, along with downstairs wet bar. Stunning kitchen provides many upgraded details, including Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine (bring along your own favorite Nespresso pods!)
Union Schoolhouse, built in 1923 as a local resource for the east-side Paso Robles rural community, was the new, modern schoolhouse at the time. The school welcomed children for their first eight years of education and featured indoor plumbing, two classrooms, a stage for school programs, and large outdoor spaces for baseball and playground. Plenty of private parking in the gated driveway for multiple vehicles. The Schoolhouse has been given a new persona as your elegant, hacienda-style vacation rental. Supplies provided for pickle ball and bocce ball. You never had this much fun at school! (We ask that you remove your shoes when on the upper level, due to the historic wood floors. Reminders are posted in the home.) We are just a few minutes from top-rated wineries on Union Road including Tobin James, Barr, Pear Valley, and dozens of others on Paso's legendary eastside. ***Five Star Coffee Program- We start your stay with a supply of coffee, filters, coffee pods, cream, and sugar for our provided drip and pod-style coffee makers onsite at every home.
***Wi-Fi and/or power outages can occur periodically in our small town and rural settings, over which we have no control
***We continue to implement our already rigorous cleaning protocols along with an added layer of disinfecting, as we finalize for each guest arrival.***

Nice spot for a Wine Tour!
This house was very spacious and served as a great spot for us to hang out and celebrate a birthday. Close to town and perfect for getting a bus to tour around to the nearby wineries.

Great Location, great property
Nothing more needs to be said other than our stay was wonderful. The property is great and we would come back anytime. Besides the spaciousness of all the rooms (both vertically and horizontally) we particularly appreciated the large coffee service and complimentary bottle of Prosecco. Good job!

Home for Wedding Preperation
This property was very spacious and clean The upstairs living/kitchen/master bedroom was beautiful! I had a lot of wedding dessert prep and the kitchen was fantastic. The downstairs bedrooms were nice and there was an excellent family room area. The barbeque and backyard were nicely kept and everything worked well. There was a balcony that was a good size. I felt like that area could have been a bit cleaner and better maintained. There was a fair amount of leaves and bird droppings, and some of the railings are loose. Overall: a wonderful place and I would definately stay again!

Beautiful and Classic
Driving up to this property is very awe inspiring. From the beautiful fountain to the grand entrance, it has a gallant first encounter with its new tenants. I loved the fact that it was a re-purposed old school house building. The history behind the property was very charming. I loved the property grounds which were very big! We even enjoyed morning walks around the property grounds. Nature was definitely in harmony with this property. We even saw deer at night walking in the backyard. It was a beautiful sight! We enjoyed our relaxing time together and left well rested and happy.

Plenty of space for 10 people
We enjoyed our stay and had plenty of room for our family in the kitchen, living room, and we enjoyed the entertainment room with games as well. The only thing I would say is to keep in mind if renting this place your shoes must be off upstairs to protect flooring. The space is beautiful. When we arrived we heard ongoing non-stop beeping noises from sensors and we didn’t want them to keep us up at night so we had them come over and shut them off which they did and the gentlemen from maintenance was there in less than 15 minutes and solved the issue. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the ample space, we made making our personal pizza and using the pizza oven outside. You do have to take your own wood but pizza paddle. Beautiful place with lots of historic features. As guests we made sure to be mindful of the history it holds and left the place spotless. Thank you!

Cool Historic Building
We enjoyed our stay. It is very spacious and open on the Top floor that was the old school house. The basement bedrooms were nice size but not enough bathrooms. The furniture upstairs was not very comfortable nor did it fit the motif of the design. Downstairs was a bit cold with tile floors but no area rugs…. But the furniture was comfortable. It’s sets on a very large lot and could have used a little TLC but we had a good time with the kids having plenty of room to run around. The Neighbors have goats and the kids love that… We have close family in Paso and have been going by this place for 40 years and didn’t know it was an old schoolhouse…. You will enjoy your stay here!!!

Back to School
Who could imagine that going back to “school” could be so much fun. What a great remodel. There wasn’t a pickle ball court or bocci ball area (at least not the right size) but we were there for the location and the wine. Perfect and close to so many wineries. Loved the kitchen and dining area. With 8 people there was plenty of room to spread out.

Wonderful Stay
The property is really beautiful and nicely maintained. It's a converted school house and they did a truly wonderful job in transforming it. The lower floor has a well stocked game room and three bedrooms. The upper floor has a huge and spotlessly clean kitchen, a living room area and another bedroom. There's a bocce court outside and a patio area with a table and chairs. The management is easy to reach and very responsive. We really enjoyed our stay.

Want to thank the property manager. We had an issue with the alarm beeping. They had someone out to the house within 15 minutes. Very responsive to our situation. Thank you. We enjoyed our stay at the Union School house. The Kitchen and living space was great for our families.

Great property for a group trip!
We really loved our stay in Paso Robles because of the School House. Very quiet and beautiful neighborhood. The house is perfect for large groups, the kitchen is amazing and we spent most of the time hanging out there. Great coach for lounging downstairs and a ping pong table. Loved the house - we would all stay here again!

Amazing House!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this remodeled school house! The open floor plan of the kitchen and upstairs living room have amazing views and have plenty of awesome upgrades! Having a game room downstairs means that the kids can play and be noisy while the parents enjoy a relaxing evening by the fire upstairs. Perfect place to relax for the weekend or longer! Very unique layout with tons of open space!
