If you like resorts, you'll probably like this place. It's surrounded by other resorts, so even the beach feels "resort-y." The place doesn't have much of a Mexico feel; otherwise, no major complaints.

Great party hotel on the beach

A lovely place on the beach, we liked having our little kitchenette that we used all the time. Convenient to shopping, great restaurants we discovered, some within walking distance. If there is one negative, it's the "party atmosphere" which means loud noise for many hours. They did stop music and activities by around 9 pm, so no late hours to keep you awake. I say this not as a criticism, but simply as an information. This is a big resort and the partying is expected. So if you are looking for a quiet place, this is not it...Otherwise, great facility. Also, be aware that the "welcome package" you receive is not a real gift. The promised drink, meal, or whatever else is a ruse to engage you with sales of property or time. I knew this and wasted no time. When I came down and was directed to a separate desk to claim my gift, my first question to the fellow was: "Are you trying to sell me something?" When he began answering with a non-answer, I said thank you and walked away....Been there, done that. Just so you know....

The service from front desk check in and staff was terrible. Waited almost 1.5 hours to check in. Asked for Ocean view and ended up with view overlooking the front street. Could not pay in cash for restaurants or bar service. Could not charge to my room. Had to use my credit card for every transaction. Food was average at best.

Its clean. It's on the beach and staff is very friendly. I didn't like the breakfast price, 25 dlls per person. Also at check in they gave an occupied room. Luckily no incidents occurred

Have never been told welcome back, nice to see you again. Was not asked how our stay was. Did not tell us we could not charge to room but had to use a credit card for all purchases. When they have special nights they close on sight restsurants. Forces you to go out somewhete.

Been staying at Villa for vacation for years. Normally go around thanksgiving but this year did new years. While it was ok, probably won't ever go around Christmas or new years again. We weren't able to get a pool side room. Our room had view of parking lot. We told reception and they said they would move us but always had an excuse and never got moved. Plus, of no fault of the resort; Christmas time there is much cooler, so didn't get in water too much because too cold. Probably will stay with them again, but just during our usual thanksgiving time.

We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel facilities. Pools were nice, beach was good, and parking was so easy. The only complaint I have is that you could not pay for anything (drinks, food, ice cream/coffee, etc.) with cash. You also could not charge it to your room. Kind of a pain to keep using your card.
