About what I expected
The man at the check in was awesome. Very knowledgeable about the area and very friendly. Our room was on the 4th floor. When entering the room it had a slight smell. I could smell it more than my wife and thought is smelled like cigarettes. Seem to come from the restroom. Later I also noticed that while in the bathroom you could hear conversations from another room through the bathroom vent. I’m thinking someone was using that vent to blow smoke out of their room and it may have caused some into our room. I don’t smoke so I’m more sensitive to it than my wife. It wasn’t bad enough to ask for a different room . The room was clean. Great location for going to Mount Vernon, only 8 minutes away. Only other issue I saw was that the metal cover around the shower handle was loose. None of this was a deal breaker and would stay here again if in town.

Great Gem in an Overpriced and Self-Important City
This is a hidden gem is an overpriced city full of self-important bores. The staff was GREAT, the breakfast was, surprisingly, GOOD and included hot food, and knew the area so well they recommended a WONDERFUL place to get real southern food in a laid back environment.

I was awaken at 1am in the morning to a female in the next room telling someone No No. Then i heard a male voice. It sounded like he was hurting her. There was alot of thumping on the walls. So i called the front desk and he said should i send someone to check. I said of course. So the police came i heard them talking. Then it was silent. I coulden get back to sleep. I was very scared. I was talking to the front desk clerk when i was ckecking out about it. He just laughed and said theres nothing he could do. That it happens. No this shouldnt happen. Im scared to stay at your hotel anymore. There should be some compensation for what i went through!!!

The housekeeping staff lied and said I stained the carpet and therefore stole 150.00 off my card. The room had a strange odor but after 9 hrs on the road , I thought nothing of it. I did not see a stain in the carpet. I believe whatever what was caused was before me. I traveled alone, ate dinner offsite. I am an honest person and had i caused any damage, I would not be writing this review. I feel lied on and scammed. I will NEVER stay at this establishment again.
