Short stay in Auckland

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights only, as it was one of my stops for a backpacking trip around New Zealand. I enjoyed a two nights stay in one of their large triple rooms (with private bathroom) on my own, as my sister mixed up her travelling dates! The room was big and clean with comfy beds and green/purple decor, which looked very nice and fresh. Unfortunately not much natural light in this room, as the only window was facing another building. However, this did not bother me as I wasn't there to stay in the room. Bathroom was enormous with powerful shower. However, if you want internet access, it is available for free for 30 min, but if you want longer access you have to pay extra - it was 10 NZD for 24h. I find this a bit annoying, but it seems to be the norm in NZ, as in almost every place I was staying I had to pay extra for internet access. Staff is great. I arrived tired after my long haul trip from UK and the guy at reception checked me in quickly and even helped me carry my heavy rucksack. Afterwards he also recommended a great dinner place near by. Be aware hotel is located close to the city center, but on a steep street. It didn't particularly bother me, but if you have any disabilities or a lot of luggage with you, it might be not the best solution. All in all, pleasant stay at this budget hotel.

weekend stay

The sheets and towels were clean, but it's very basic. Excellent location and service, so can't complain for the money. Great for couples and travellers needing a short stay somewhere central.

A réserver aux petits budgets

Pros: A deux pas du CBD
Cons: équiper les chambres de tables et chaises, y mettre des porte-manteaux ou de quoi ranger des vêtements. Avoir accès au wifi dans les chambres
Bien situé et vraiment pas cher. Par contre, l'établissement demande à être rénové. Les peintures sont abîmées, la moquette et les rideaux également. Les chambres sont équipées du strict minimum (le ou les lits et une mini étagère, et c'est tout).

Hyvä sijainti

Hotellin sijainti on loistava. Vaikka se sijaitsee keskustassa, alueella on yllättävän rauhallista ja hiljaista yöllä. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä. Hotellin tilat ovat vanhat ja kuluneet. Kolmen hengen huoneemme omalla kylpyhuoneella oli tilava, mutta pieniltä osin epäkäytännöllinen (esim tavaroille ei ollut juurikaan laskutilaa/tasoja). Huoneiden välinen äänieristys oli aika heikko. Viereiseen huoneeseen sattui tulemaan pikkuvauva, jonka parkumista jouduimme kuuntelemaan koko illan ja johon myös heräsimme viideltä aamuyöllä. Hotellissa oli myös käytettävissä yhteinen keittiötila, mutta me emme tarvinneet sitä. Suurin miinus oli wifin rajallisuus. Wifiä pystyi käyttämään vain hotellin aulassa 30 minuuttia päivässä ilmaiseksi. Muuten toimiva ja edullinen majapaikka, jota suosittelen budjettimatkailijoille.
