High marks.
A lovely stay, and the staff could not possibly be nicer or more helpful. This is a historic property that forms its own compound in the heart of the pleasant village of Azay-le-Rideau. The hotel is a short walk from one of the most splendid of the Loire chateaux, and is aso centrally located for daytrips throughout the region. Our room was large and comfortable, if a bit sparsely furnished. The bathroom was quite new, modern, and well-fitted out. We'd happily have stayed longer.

This is a lovely old Relais de Poste, converted into a luxurious property. Everything was great. Nice sized rooms, lobby, bar, and breakfast. A fantastic location a few minutes walk from great restaurants and the Cheap Away le Rideau. An EXCELLENT value.

The room was excellent- very comfortable bed, clean and well presented and with a fabulous wet room 👍 We have stayed at the Grand Monarch before but not for a few years. The upgrades since our last trip are of an exceptionally high quality.
