Decent but lacking in comforts
The king size bed had visible depressions and humps. The mattress was so bad that anyone, especially someone who already has chronic back pain (me) is going to have trouble sleeping and risk injuring themselves the next day. There was no comforter on the king bed either- only a paper thin cover and an extra blanket. We had to crank up the heat just to keep from freezing in the bed. There were several light fixtures with dead bulbs, and the secondary bedroom’s overhead light randomly cuts off. The bathroom is very small and can be a bit tight for family use. The hot tub was a plus, but the jets do not work at all and it does not maintain the set temperature. The neighborhood and amenities are decent. The kitchen is fairly equipped. Overall this is a good budget option but there is nothing luxurious.

Very clean cabin
While the cabin is compact, it has all you need: well-stocked kitchen, a stackable washer/dryer that came in handy to wash our ski clothes each night, great water pressure in the shower, and a hot tub. My husband and children reported the twin beds were hard and not comfortable, but the king bed in the other bedroom was super comfy. The detailed directions sent upon booking are a MUST to follow to find the cabin...get your odometer ready. And they are not kidding about needing a 4WD vehicle because you have to climb to the top of the mountain and back down a little before arriving at the cabin; parts of the climb and descent are steep. Don't let the distance to Beech Mountain that is listed fool you....the short distance that's listed is if you travel over some sketchy roads and paths that sounded dangerous in the description that was sent via email after booking. We opted for the safest path and it took about 20-25 minutes by the time you rode down the mountain to the neighborhood entrance and then on to Beech Mountain. The neighborhood is beautiful and we enjoyed seeing all the deer out and about. The cabin was also super clean!!

Perfect Short Getaway!
Such a cute cozy cabin! Very clean. Detailed instructions on hot tub, getting in the cabin, etc. It is quite a hike up the mountain to get to it. Highly recommend arriving in the daytime. We went for a short ski trip with our teens but the mountain looks to have great amenities and things to do in and of itself. We would definitely consider going back.

Mountain Retreat Review
Overall we enjoyed our stay and loved the area. Our kids loved being able to hike and explore the community. We did have some snags with this rental…but nothing to completely deter us from the area. Once booked we began to receive several email containing rules, check in instructions, and more policies than were mentioned. Very strict rules on 1 towel per person (which isn’t ideal with a family of four for a property with a hot tub) so we had to wash towels after hot tub use before showering. That brings me to the hot tub…we are owners of one and know chemicals must be used. When we arrived the hot tub was green hued and had a gross smell. We used it once since that was the main reason we booked it but not again unfortunately. Upon arrival the home was 34* inside….after investigating I guess whoever stayed prior to use had some windows unlocked and a draft was coming from several windows, the fire place flue was left open as well. Which was hard to believe based off the very strict rules that were emailed out as far as check in and check out processes. Overall lots of little things that didn’t sit right but we did do the right thing and try to reach out to the property manager but haven’t revived any response from them since booking other than automated messages with rules and directives. Great house, but the extensive rules once booking was complete made us uncomfortable especially at the 1 trash bag and 1 roll of toilet paper rule with a family. The 1 towel made it tough so we did laundry a lot. Just wish it was a 5 out of 5. But like I said….we tried to contact owner. Otherwise…cute cabin great spot if you’re skiing!

Cute Cabin!
We enjoyed our stay at this cute cabin! It was definitely stressful trying to navigate the curvy mountain roads & the signage was not the best, since the cabin was 6 miles up the mountain (about a 15 min ride). Overall a great place to stay!

Wonderful getaway in Banner Elk on the beautiful and sprawling Eagles Nest community. Immaculate grounds, cozy cabin, and incredible views! Saw lots of deer, and even a black bear wandering the grounds! Plenty of fun hikes within a short drive, and lots to do around Banner Elk and Beech Mountain area. Check out the alpine coaster at Wilderness Run!

It Has Good Bones
This little cabin could have a ton of charm. But there are a few things that should be addressed and that you don’t see in pics. The door used to enter the cabin does not stay closed unless it is locked. Blinds in the living area are broken and missing. Wires, cords and extension outlets hanging from tvs instead of being neatly tucked away. The second bedroom has no heat. It’s freezing. And the master bedroom mattress needs to go. Lumps, bumps and sinkholes. We were asked to remove ashes from the fireplace but not provided with a shovel with the fireplace set. The kitchen was fairly equipped. This place could use a little tlc. With that said, we had a quiet weekend and enjoyed all the outdoor things to do.

Cute cabin, had every appliance and utinsil needed.
Ease of booking, very easy check in and check out. Take firewood as there is a great firepit outside. Nice hot tub, and comfortable outside table with chairs. Prepare to stop at a grocery before entering Eagles Nest as it is a 25 minute drive up the mountain so you will want your supplies prior. Great time!

Great community. Poor property.
The Eagles Nest neighborhood is a wonderful neighborhood with many amazing properties, this specific one is a swing and miss. My wife and I went to the mountains for our 1-year wedding anniversary and this property was just not up to the standards we have experienced in previous visits. The property management does not provide an address or cabin name so it is extremely difficult to find. Attempting to contact the manager was difficult as they did not provide a contact number. Once finally arriving we found that the furniture is all torn up and they do not provide any trash removal throughout your stay. You have to take your trash to a local dumpster or take it home with you. Once home after our trip, they charged an extra fee to our credit card for an additional "cleaning fee" even though we left the cabin in a cleaner state than when we arrived. Overall, would advise to stay in Eagles Nest, just not at this property.

Our family enjoyed one week at this beautiful cabin. The cabin worked great for our family. Eagles Nest is a very high end community. We loved the proximity of the cabin to the pickle ball court and basketball (within walking distance). The cabin was beautifully decorated and the beds were comfortable. I was not a big fan of the drive as it was up and over the mountain top but much of the area is like this. Overall, great stay and the cabin was a great property. Also, loved the hot tub!

Best winter vacation
The location is the strongest point of this house. We enjoyed the snow slides around the house, amd the walk trails in the nature. The nature is wonderful! The road in the community is magic! You can meet family deers around the house and during walks. The house was comfortable and cozy and the kitchen was stuffed with all necessary. The house gets warm really quick and the fireplace is beautiful and enjoyable. There is no dishwasher so be prepared to wash your dishes. The communication with the owner was quick and responsive. Attention follow the directions of welcome letter because it is a real quest game to find the house especially if you arrive at night! Do not follow your GPS because will get you to the wrong place! There are 3 gates and the directions from the owner are from the main gate! The owner doesn’t provide fire woods you have to buy them. We enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful but Remote
We really enjoyed our long weekend in Eagles Nest. Cons of our stay: No iron, No Corkscrew, No dishwasher, TV to high on mantle and too small, very small bathroom, cabin wasn’t very clean…crumbs under cushions and trash under sofas. area is extremely remote and took 45 mins to get to Boone and Blowing Rock but this was our fault for not researching area closer. Listing showed a grill but we never saw one. Pros: Beautiful area with incredible views, abundant wildlife to watch, hot tub was clean and worked great. Overall we enjoyed our time here but will stay closer to Seven Devils next year. Thanks

Great cabin with a fantastic location on a wonderful property. We thoroughly enjoyed our one week escape to the mountains. Hikes within the property and elsewhere close by like GRandfather Mountain state park were very nice, as were the cascades. Banner Elk was a great litttle town. Enjoyed everything in the cabin and this community, inlcluding the concert they put on Saturday night. The personnel at the front were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place!
