THERE ARE TWO THINGS most people want in a hotel: A quiet place to get a full night's sleep, and reliable wi-fi as most of us take our work with us. If this is you, avoid Copley house. In the night we stayed, the wifi varied from completely dead to pitifully feeble. Staff did nothing to help except "reboot" (unplugging the model), and right back to not working. Early in the AM, two hotel employees had a loud conversation outside our room door; worse, there was CONSTRUCTION also in progress in the room above us! Remarkably, the full of crap college student at the desk gaslighted and outright lied to us; told us "she looked at the camera, and no one was outside our room". Told us the noise upstairs was simply guests checking out despite the construction vehicle parked right outside and the clear view from the parking lot of the construction going on! Sadly- they have our money, and we have no recourse. Do NOT trust this place unless these things don't matter to you!

Cozy place to lay your head
The check-in process was very easy; the room was clean and had your basic necessities. We are partial to the old brownstones of Boston ;-) The off-street parking was good, but it was tight for our Jeep Cherokee. The walls are definitely thin, and we could hear everything going on outside, 2 floors down like we were standing on the sidewalk. You'll likely struggle to sleep here if you are a light sleeper.

This is an outstanding location for proximity to Northeastern University or other Back Bay sites. The setup --sort of like multiple dispersed AirBnB units with a common front desk--is a little unusual, but works pretty seamlessly. Bed was comfortable. There was some noise from other guests walking / talking upstairs, but none that kept us up too late.

It wasn’t clear when I made the reservation that this was not a traditional hotel or inn. So when we showed up and were sent to the building a few houses down and told to let us ourselves in, etc….it was a bit confusing but it turned out just fine. Our 1 bedroom plus kitchen and small couch and table made me think it would be nice for a stay of a few days or longer.

There is pre-booking in process. You fill out a form prior to checking in. It did not take long. The staff was friendly upon arrival. My room wasn’t ready at 3pm. I decided to leave my luggage at the front desk. They agreed to take it to my room once it was ready. I decided to go to the Prudential Center to eat which is only a two minute walk away. I’m glad that I didn’t have to take my own luggage UP two flights of stairs. There is no elevator. The room was small but clean. I had a new towel for every day of my stay. The a/c unit needed to be serviced. It blew out cool air and dust, affecting my allergies. The bathroom fixtures need replacing: toilet paper holder and shower. I did like the slower gel provided; I have sensitive skin. The walls are thin… I ordered a package from Amazon which arrived the next day. It was secured at the front desk. Keep in mind there is not a 24/7 front desk. Hours are 9am - 9pm. I liked that there was free WiFi and a smart TV in the room. I noticed that the WiFi signal dropped from the TV on day two. I spoke with staff to have the issues rectified. I was told to unplug the TV to reset it if this happens again. It worked. I had to do it twice during my five night stay. For security purposes, there is CCTV at the front of the house, inside house upon entering and in various parts of the staircases. The room met my purpose. A clean room for my stay while visiting Boston for medical reasons.

Location is great - close to a 7-ll and the Prudential Center for transportation, dining and shopping. Charming brownstone neighborhood. Small but very efficient room with nearly anything you want. Bathtub didn't hold water, and we didn't quite figure out the TV, but both quite minor issues. Staff very friendly and very helpful.

We had a great stay at the Copley House. Wonderful apartment and a fantastic location. We traveled to Boston for a concert in Fenway Park, which was an easy walk from the apartment. Thanks for everything.
