Convenient for airport but long walk to city and harbour area..Air conditioning was very cold and unable to be controlled by us. Also suggest extra blankets should be stored in the room as other hotels do.

We appreciated the friendly and helpful service from the 24 hour reception manager when our arrival was after midnight because of flight delays. Great location and beautiful breakfast setting. Limited parking on-site. We had to park on the street.

Harbourside was an excellent choice. Staff super helpful and always happy to help. Hotel close enough to centre of town that an easy walk, but far enough to be quiet and relaxing. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will stay again next time in Cairns.

PROS: FANTASTIC value for money. Excellent location, 20 mins walk to restaurants & shops. Quiet - no street noise or noise from other rooms. AMAAAAZING view from the balcony of the beach. Big rooms - we had a twin share with 2 double beds & there was tons of room to move. Super comfy beds, like sleeping on a cloud. Pillow selection with both firm & soft options. Lovely outdoor & pool areas & very clean pool & spa. Great little bar, excellent pizzas! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL staff - super friendly, sooo helpful. CONS: Rooms could do with a refresh - our toilet seat was old & damaged, curtains were different material & colour to each other, antique heating/aircon controls. We had to ask property maintenance to fix our safe which wasn't working & to put a globe in the hall light. The ironing board was broken - they had to bring us a new one. Only 1 toilet roll for a twin room & our room wasn’t cleaned 2nd day despite hanging the sign to clean it. Pool was unheated & was FREEZING so we couldn’t swim despite the warmer winter weather - that was a shame as we were so looking forward to hanging by the pool. Buffet breakfast was $30 pp & wasn’t great for the price. All this said, we will most definitely come back & stay - the cons were no big deal compared to all the good things about the place & the staff just made it a joy to stay.

The property was in an old condition compared to the price we paid for the suite. We expected to stay in the renovated part of the hotel on the fron row building on the ocean.

The hotel is in a great location short walk to the esplanade and town, the rooms are dated, tired and in need of a renovation. The biggest let down was as a business traveler the wifi, it is so slow and drops out constantly couldn’t even participate in a video meeting because the internet kept dropping out, for this reason alone I will not be coming back. The keys to the rooms hardly ever work either I had to keep entering the card and would often take 5 mins to get into the room. Staff were pleasant and helpful
