Great getaway from people/work. Great beach
Double check prices first. This is a single unit (3A) so no price-match will be honored (found out the hard way).
Unit - The unit itself is nice, part of a duplex. Overall feel is that of a Great-Aunt's beach house she lets you use for a week. Like many homes in hurricane areas, first floor is parking, living space is on 2nd level and higher. Stairs only.
PRO - LOCATION, QUIET, STAFF
just a few steps to the road, then across to the beach. this part of beach is not crowded, but go another 300 ft south and there's literally no one so you can have it all to yourself all day. Saw dolphins near shore every day while sitting on beach, several jumping/playing. Water temp was perfect.
As long as you know what you're getting and it aligns with your needs, this can be a perfect getaway spot. Management was VERY good at responding and providing info/support. One of the best Management communications I've had with a 'no contract' property.
CON -
The overall unit was ok, but some things could be improved. First floor master bath tub faucet handle needs minor repaired. Kitchen pots/etc.. could use to be replaced (but maybe I'm picky - they are what you'd find in any average home ... useable, but not pristine). Lanai screen needs fixed in 1 small spot. Kitchen/Dining/TV area are all same (large L shaped) room.
Depends on your 'want'. If you want a lot of activity and places/things to do, Captiva is not for you. We went for 'get away from everyone' and that's what this is.
