Really pleased with the complimentary upgrade! Wonderful pianist in the evening at Merlins Bar. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only criticism is The Olive Tree restaurant for breakfast, I felt like the waiting staff were hovering over us, so couldn't enjoy.

Well as always here in the past you need to check your bill on exit I had £120 knocked off due to service charges and a mysterious charge of £45 even they did not know what it was also charged an extra breakfast. Service charges for me to go to the bar order my drink collect my drink and sit down? Ridiculous?

Stayed whilst walking through the Beacons. Hotel was lovely, all the staff were great. We were upgraded which was nice, bed was brilliant and couldnt fault the room. The room service was not very good. It was 30 minutes late, the Pizza was expensive for what it was and the salmon was cold by the time it arrived along with the fries. We did order late so put it down to this but dissapointed with the food, otherwise a lovely stay and will stay again.

We arrived easily, check in was pleasant, bit suprised that they took £50 out of my bank as a deposit, hopefully that will be returmed soon. Check in was easy, however when we entered our room, we noticed a bottle of prosecco in an ice bucket (we assumed this was just complementary.) Thankfully we didnt open and drink it as we had a bill for £48 for the bottle the next morning. I queried this and they asked if we had opened the bottle, whilst having breakfast somebody had gone into the room to retrieve this bottle back. Again thankfully we didnt open and drink it as we would have been charged £48 for this, although it was the hotels mistake for putting it there in the first place. Air con was terrible, window hardly opened as it was top floor, understandable for health & safety but please get better aircon as we felt suffocated with how humid it had been. Apart from they the stay was nice, spa was nice, food in the grill was nice , although £13 for a medium glass of wine was steep.
