I want to rave about the shower. Great water pressure (both overhead rainfall shower and hand-held water pic). Great temperature. Very roomy shower and bathroom. The room itself was very nice and comfortable. The hotel itself is in a lovely, stately building right in the shadow of the much never Principality Stadium. Very short walk to the train station, which is convenient.

Beautiful hotel right in the heart of Cardiff. On arrival we were given the option of some discounted up grades, to which we upgraded to a junior suite with a balcony. This included an all inclusive mini bar. The mini bar was a little disappointing, however the room was beautiful, clean and there was an array of Elemis toiletries. We would have liked to experience the spa facilities however these were quite an expensive additional cost which is disappointing. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was however disappointing, the produce quality felt cheap , there was limited availability and the pastries were dry and stale. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall we concluded it’s a lovely hotel with lots of potential to improve, but not worth the expensive price tag.

This Property has undergone remodeling recently, nicely appointed room but small as usual in the UK, The one big think which the Management has to seriously reconsider is why charging in-house guest a fee to use the wet area (swimming pool, Jacuzzi.....etc.)? I find it very awkward and not in line with the Majority of Hotels around the world which gives free access to the Hotel's Facilities!!! Restaurant Prices are over the top and I had to request for things which supposed to be in the room like luggage Rack and others. Will Probably not stay here in the Future.

Another wonderful stay at the Parkgate Hotel. I feel like somewhat of a fraud as we've never had a bad experience, and it's our favourite location in the city. The front desk held onto our luggage, which was a great help. So we did some last-minute shopping and enjoyed the last of our morning. We always play a game of "What room will it be this time?" as we work our way around the hotel in different rooms and suites. Everything is always perfect and always a pleasure to visit. (YES... we are coming back on the 30th August) We simply cannoy stay away Thank you all 😀

Newly renovated hotel in the old post office building with lovely decor. Clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Nicely appointed rooms with very comfortable bed. We had pre drinks in the hotel bar nice atomoshere with good choice of cocktails. Extremely busy at breakfast we didnt have to wait long for a table however we had wait for the food to be replenished and some of the hot food was cold. Staff tried their best and were apologetic. There was an allergy station with separate toaster but very limited choice. Perhaps timed slots would help when the hotel is at capacity?

Lovely hotel and location but extras are pricey
Overall really nice property, great location right in the centre 5 minutes from train station and main shopping areas. One of baggage porter/bell hops working on the 25th who is one of the first points of contact for many (organising queues/sorting the lifts) is incredibly rude, bossy, abrupt and came across quite aggressive completely unprovoked. To the point I had to say something back. He apologised for the way he spoke later on. This isn’t the customer service you expect, he simply shouldn’t be in that customer facing role. The room was £143. This didn’t include access to the pool and didn’t include any breakfast. Breakfast was an additional 20 each with spa access £40 each. Being so close to the centre we opted for a lovely breakfast in one of the arcades. Lovely hotel, just a shame about the baggage man and the pricey extras, especially the spa which are usually included l.

Beautiful hotel. This is our second stay. Rooms very lovely, very clean and with nice little touches such as individual toiletries, bathrobes, bottles of water and plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits. Beds and pillows very comfortable and the rooms were really well soundproofed, we couldn’t hear people in the corridors at all. Bit of a queue for breakfast but is was classed as the busy time, 9.45. Plenty of choice for hot and cold breakfast items. Could do with more coffee machines as the queue was really long. Great location, minutes from the city centre. We didn’t use the closest NCP car park as they wanted £32 for 24 hours. We parked in the railway station car park for £13.90 and it was less than 5 minutes walk.

Stayed in room 521, very clean hotel however due to the wind, something kept banging outside (window, door?). We didnt go to the pool or wasnt asked about leisure facilities at reception. Heard it was 30 pound to use pool therefore we will never pay that.
