My state of The Chicago hotel collection, magnificent mile went pretty well. Although the initial stage of my stay was actually a bit dangerous. I checked into room 1903 and found a device that was running in the room, making the room smell weird. I proceeded to unpack my things, not thinking too much of the device. Soon I started coughing a lot and having major shortness of breath and started getting very dizzy. I then looked up with the device was and found it to be an ozone generator, and that I shouldn’t be in the same room as one. I then went downstairs and the gentleman that was helping me was not very friendly, but was quick at getting me a new room in 2004. I then took a nap and woke up having a hard time breathing. I’ve been fine since checking out, but still scary to have gone through that not knowing the danger I was in.

Before retiring, I was a frequent business traveler to Chicago. I generally stayed in name branded hotels near the federal courthouse. I did not need to be in that area on this trip, so I chose CHC. What a pleasant surprise. The room was very spacious. The bathroom/shower was great. It was quiet, both internally (did not hear anything from hallway or adjoining rooms) and externally (no street noise). Overall, the room was much, much nicer than the "better brands" where I usually stayed, and the cost was considerably lower. I will definitely go back next trip to Chicago.

I did not like the hotel - i booked double queen bed with city view, when i went to check in they said they dont have that, one of us had to sleep om couch bed. The thermostat on half part of room was not working. They didn’t had proper toiletries - no body wash, tooth brush or tooth paste, when i asked the guy at front desk he said you can ise sampoo to shower - which was rude. The staff is rude, the amenities mentioned wer missing like coffee maker, there was microwave but not even a single glass to even boil water. The carpet was stinking. Overall experience- not good Would appreciate if i get a partial refund based on my experience since I didn’t get the room i booked

Every employee was super helpful. Room was so clean and comfortable. Everything was walking distance and the free drinks came in handy. Will definitely come back here if I’m ever in the area again.

The hotel was ok considering the area. The 77 dollars that is mandatory every time you get a reservation and is pretty much buying a bag of 3 waters and 3 sodas plus all the other charges that you get at the time you'recheckingin. Never staying there ever again and definitely not recommending this hotel to friends and family

Don’t book this hotel. Especially not from Expedia. Upon arrival you will be hit with additional charges outside of those expressed on Expedia. The hotel was subpar. The cable and WiFi were horrible. The room was dirty and I saw a roach.

My experience was nice until I kept trying to call the hotel a week later because I noticed they didn’t release my hold fee and the lady at the front desk kept putting me on hold then hanging up she did it 4 times every time I called I wouldn’t recommend after that
