The HA Whitney in is located at the intersection of Highways 151, 73, 16, 60 & -89. We are 1.5 blocks from the Columbus, Wisconsin Amtrak station; aproximately 31 minutes from the Dane County regional airport in Madison; 38 minutes from the University of Wisconsin, Madison; 1 hour 33 minutes from the General Mitchell International airport, Milwaukee; approximately 2 hours 19 minutes from O'Hare International airport, Chicago; and approximately 1 hour south of Wisconsin Dells. We are 1/2 block from the historic Downtown Columbus business district and about 3 blocks from the largest Antiques mall in Wisconsin. The town offers many good restaurants and beautiful architecture, including the Luis Sullivan Jewel Box, just two blocks away.

Visiting family nearby

The Whitney was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay while visiting family. It has every amenity you could want and is very clean and quiet. The lawn area is beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the Adirondack chairs and enjoying the cool Wisconsin weather!

Relaxing stay

So nice to have a reasonable priced VBRO in the same town as our son. Our 2 overnight stay was a nice surprise birthday gift for my husband of 55 yrs. Being able to visit family and also have our independence was comfortable.

Excellent stop for the solo traveller

The location was easy to find, easy to access, had great food options around (especially for such a small town), and was a joy to stay in. Things were well stocked and everything was clean and orderly. If I'm ever in the area again, staying here will be a no-brainer.

my husband and I stayed here for a wedding and honestly it was so quaint and in a peaceful little spot! the room was very clean and they stocked the fridge for us as well and we weren't expecting that at all. the property owners were very sweet people as well! close by the downtown area of Columbus so everything was in walking distance

Relaxing

I loved the place. It was extremely clean. Had a wonderful variety of breakfast items, coffees and juice. I would definitely recommend staying here. I went to my son’s graduation at University of Wisconsin in Madison and staying here was much nicer and less expensive than staying at a hotel in Madison. It was a 35-40 minute drive but I didn’t mind it at all. I spoke with the owner who is a lovely woman. She was very kind.

Pleasant & clean but small

Hosts have much attention to giving us a pleasant stay. It was very clean and everything we needed (and more) was provided. But I didn't understand from the ad that this is actually a one room studio apartment with no couch for relaxing (bed, kitchen and table all in one room). Hosts were very gracious and friendly while still giving us privacy.

Columbus efficiency

We needed a stay near Madison. This commute was perfect distance from city! Very, very clean & cute & fresh styling. Sleeps two but hosts allowed air mattress for teenager ( I wouldn’t recommend. Limited room, but worked in a pinch. Still better than hotel! My fault for booking late.) Wonderful cinnamon rolls on counter & fridge stocked w brkfst needs! I also was impressed with first aide kit in bathroom. (I needed a bandaid!) We met John night of arrival and he was helpful w dinner recommendations in town. Appreciated the motion detector lites on property. Always nice touch in darkness! Loved it! Thank you so much, Jackie (Jon & Kayden)

Couples get away

Our stay with John and Suzanne was very nice. The description was extremely correct and more. They supplied breakfast items which we found to be plentiful for our 2 mornings. We were fortunate enough to get a visit with Suzanne on our check in day. She was very pleasant and enjoyable to talk to. John was great with the online communication however we didn’t meet in person but maybe next time as he was working.

We were hosting a student on an externship for two weeks. This was a great place to put them up. Problem checking in because vrbo sent the wrong code but it was quickly corrected by calling the host. They also followed up on restocking food. Would recommend it.

Wonderful First Vrbo experience!

This was our first time using VRBO and it was a great experience. The owners were easy to communicate with, the instructions were clear and precise, and the unit was spotless! I am a neat freak so trust me when I say that it was 100% clean:) Wonderful hosts and easy to manage process all the way through!

Great, quiet retreat

I came for a weekend solo getaway and it was perfect. The owners are very kind and the location is walkable to most things in town, yet still quiet and relaxing. The studio apartment is well-appointed and well-stocked. All you need for an easy going time.

Was so nice and clean. It was different though, they supplied breakfast frozen dinners in the freezer for the breakfast. It was fine but not like the bed & Breakfast were used to. Went to breakfast on our own.
