Quaint and Cozy
The cottage was very adorable, cozy, inviting and warm. We enjoyed seeing deer, turkey and rabbits every morning and the pictures and placards about the family added a beautiful personal touch and history. It's so sweet of the family to share the home.

I wish we could stay here longer
We had only a weekend to spend in the mountains and this place was a perfect spot. Location is incredible, with beautiful views, surrounded by pines. Having morning coffee outdoors felt magical, we’re so grateful for several places to relax in a tree shade. Cabin is very convenient and has everything what a vintage home can offer. Seeing all the pictures and family stories was very special and we deeply appreciated a chance to belong to such a heartwarming community during our stay. We’d come back and stay here again in a blink of an eye!

Eh
The house was unique for sure. But worring about the well going dry and the heater being in the middle of the room amd keeping the bedrooms so hot and the livingroom so cold. The kitchen had no exhaust fan so the smoke defector went off evertime you cooked on low. The driveway was dirt. The bathroom was made for someone under 5 foot. No dishwasher and no washi g machine or dryer. It was ok...but not somewhere i would go back to...for the price in a different location i could have stayed somewhere nice.

Great little get away. Far enough outside of town and on a dirt road. Smaller bedrooms than it appears in person but works just fine. Hallway is very narrow but the home was clean and had everything we needed. Great outdoor area as well to enjoy the views of the mountains.

Our family absolutely loves Estes Park and this cabin was a great place to stay
The cabin has some of the easiest parking we have encountered in our stays in Estes Park. The family room is spacious and the staircase is short enough that we didn’t worry about our 2 year old on it. Lovely vacation spot and look forward to staying again!

Avoid this DILAPIDATED cabin
My wife and I travel extensively and love rustic cabins. After seeing mixed reviews on this property, we decided to give it a try. What a mistake it was. Almost everything in this cabin was old and "tired". Walls and ceilings were damaged and stained. There was only a hodgepodge of cookware/utensils and teflon frying pans that were unusable due to scratching. The kitchen cabinets were terribly worn and outdated. Even the toaster had two levers, both broken. The yard was overgrown and had piles of debris (pipes, rusty yard equipment, etc.). The exterior looked like it hadn't been painted or caulked in years, as did most of the inside. It doesn't take much to see that this cabin has been neglected for years, perhaps decades in most cases of need. Ignore the possible charm this cabin appears to have from the old pictures posted on VRBO or the few decent reviews by people who are obviously willing to overlook all the neglect. It's a dump. Look elsewhere.

A faded museum; not our style
Stayed in late April 2022. Not as nice as the photos suggest. House and rooms are smaller than photos suggest. Bedrooms are very unappealing: narrow with low ceilings. Upstairs ceiling is low everywhere. Single bathroom is clean, but bathroom doorway is 6’. Bedroom doors are in poor shape: they are sheets of 3/16” plywood with a wood border of 1”x3” wood. Bathroom door is in poor shape too. Uncomfortable mattresses. Kitchen is tiny and minimal. Unclear what in the cabinets is clean to use, and what has been there untouched for years. No dishwasher or disposal. No washer or dryer. Only heat source is large black propane heater in living room. We don’t like sitting next to a blowing furnace. All heat goes up so areas like the kitchen stay cold. No supplemental baseboard heat.

Cute Rustic Cabin
Cute historic cabin. Feels just like you are staying in Grandmas cabin. We loved the outdoor space, my kids played outside all day, sledding and generally just being kids. Deck outside was perfect and quiet for morning coffee. Saw a flock of turkeys multiple times, they roosted in the tree right outside the window. A group of deer walked right past us as were cooking dinner. The cabin had everything we needed. Not a luxury vacation home, but a good old fashioned family cabin.

Wedding stay in Estes Park
Our experience was okay....it was like staying at our grandparents home. Fun to see turkeys, deer and it was pretty. Unfortunately it rained a lot while we were there so we weren't outside. Needs a little better cleaning job and the sink is backing up.

A true grandma's cabin
The overall experience here was great! It has an amazing location. Tons of wildlife early in the morning and evening! The house/cabin has the feel of your old grandma's place. We enjoyed the evenings on the deck after spending the days in town shopping or up in Rocky National Park. So much to do in this small town. Cooled off at night so not having AC wasn't an issue. Just a few issues/complaints. -the heater is always on regardless how low you set it. Must be the pilot light? Either way, it gives off noticable heat when near it. -the listing lists fire pit, which is one of the reasons why we chose this place. We found out that we were not allowed to use it when we arrived. In my opinion, the fire pit listing should have been removed. -the last thing, the son of the family brought his trailer onto the property one of the nights and was staying there for the rest of our stay. We were not told of this before hand, so the private secluded stay wasn't so much anymore. We did talk to him upon his arrival, and he was very friendly! Someone also drove a trailer at 10:08pm down the property to the trailer, which was noisy due to the dirt road. Other than those 3 hiccups, we had a fantastic stay. We would go back, but asking about the things listed before hand.

Loved the land and location. Great place to let kids run and explore. House was older but comfortable. Would have been much better if mice and possibly rats (from size of droppings) weren't part of the nightly routine. Traps are obviously not working or not enough.

Beautiful Place
We had a grand time at Grandma's House. It was a great base location for exploring RMNP and felt so homey to come back and relax after long days of hiking/fishing. With the exception of the small battle with a few of the local mice, our stay was overwhelmingly positive!
