Not up to standards
This W Hotel is not up to the standards of most of the W we stayed at in the past. We were assigned a room which did not appear to be like the one I reserved. It had a musty smell. We asked for an upgrade but the wanted to charge and extra $200 a night!!! They ended up changing to the same room but 2 floors higher. It was better. Stil I booked the fabulous room…that room was by no means fabulous. I have to admit, the view was gorgeous and made things better. We also had to wait for a long time while they gave us the new room. The staff was nice and friendly. The bar and the Mexican restaurant were very good. I would probably not go back to this hotel, there are better choices,

Great Service Dated Property
We were very early for check in, front desk offered us an upgraded room that was available for an extra charge. We were put in a two bedroom suite in tower II, which sounded great. When we got to the room you could tell it had not been occupied for a bit. Dusty, dirty, and worn. One of the toilets wouldn’t flush and sink wouldn’t drain. Although room was far from great service in both restaurants and front desk was great. Elevators were also not great at all! We were on floor 20 and only two working elevators for the tower we were in.

The W Fort Lauderdale has been one of my favorite W properties for a long time. The staff are pleasant, the rooms and views are well worth the stay. The cocktails at the bars are also 10/10! Love it here.

Water, moldy, humid.
First room was so humid and smelled like mold. Moved during the middle of the night to another room because I was miserable. A very nice woman moved us to another room but sadly it was still humid and moldy. Water dripping all over the floors in each room, water running down walls. Awful. I went to bed with wet hair and woke up to my hair still wet. Will never come here again because it was awful and needs to be condemned.

The rooms have a weird smell to it. The sheets had stains on them , the pillow smelled of tobacco which was disgusting.
