When we booked, I wasn't sure if the location would be that nice. It was our first trip to Ghent so we were pleasantly surprised. We found the staff helpful and friendly. As for the hotel, the parking was convenient, the room was perfect and it sits right in the heart of where you want to be. We will visit and stay again at the Marriott!

The location is amazing just I front of river which makes you enjoy the romantic atmosphere even it’s raining. A subset view is gorgeous.The receptionist is not too professional but the building design is amazing

We went for the room with the canal view and it was great. A lot going on in the canal and the surrounding area in the best part of town. Did not like misinformation from the front desk. The airport went on strike and we had to extend a day. They said it would be at the same price as the Expedia booked price. At checkout the story changed and no they could charge their regular price for the extra night which was a lot more.

A great hotel
Hotel is fantastic as is the town in general. Here for work but stayed on for my Birthday. Only down side was the restaurant over the canal that left me with food poisoning as a present but not the hotels fault to be clear.

One of the few hotels in Ghent that I saw and it is a lovely one. An interior atrium greets you upon arrival and Starbucks and dining options are in the main area. Breakfast is served in a separate room and there is a canal front terrace for drinks. My room had a pitched ceiling with large oak timbers and floors making it seem very European. Great bed and large screen tv. Gym with treadmills and weights. Walkable to historic sites, grocery shops and restaurants. Very safe feeling for this mature solo traveler. Marriott does it again.

Great location, lovely breakfast - staff were amazing, Louisa - I think? Check-in was awful - a large important group were leaving and they were allowed to queue jump to check out. Obviously the reception staff were more interested in them than the normal traveller! Several rooms weren’t ready, even though it was after 4pm. Our sink was blocked and took over 1 hour and 3 conversions with reception to be moved to the room next door! Replied to the hotel email asking for check in feedback and was never contacted by them to discuss this. Not really the service I would expect from a Marriott hotel….

This is a great hotel to stay. The staff is amazing, the conditions impecable and the location is great. The only suggestion I have: please provide directions to your parking lot. GPS are not reliable and we ended up in the city center which is not recommended.

i loved the quietness at night but still in a central location during the day. The one negative was that the other couple we were travelling with had a Tv in their room that remained unusable throughout their stay despite reporting to reception on day one, apparently maintenance don't work weekends !!! It didn't matter much to our friends and didn't spoil anything. I just think maybe maintenance should be 7 days a week.
