Pros: close to the pool, nice community, all the rooms are spacious Cons: no hot tub as stated in the property description, limited kitchen supplies such as pans and spices so bring your own along with any storage containers, foil….., do not use the iron as it will burn your clothes even on the lowest setting, there are some technical issues with the TV in the main bedroom, water pressure in the showers is poor, overall, it was not very clean. The location is ok if you do not care about being close to the beach. The beach is a good distance away so definitely using the shuttle and/or bike rentals is the best.

The other reviews that listed issues with this condo, have not been addressed. Too many to list but two of the biggest problems were the air conditioner (too hot) and if you like good or even decent sheets, I recommend you bring your own. The sheets on master bed felt like I was sleeping on sand. The sheets were picked and horrible. The towels are small, rough and scratchy. This condo needs much TLC and I would not stay here again. It is very disappointing that we assumed the issues that guest have complained about, would have been fixed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Palmetto Dunes is beautiful and well maintained. Having the pool and recreational activities readily available were super convenient and enjoyable. We liked the privacy of the villa and the size was just right. Other than wanting the AC to be a little better, the stay was great and we would do it again!

This condo needs lots of work b4 renting: Shades are broken, towel bars are missing, there are so many problems that the owner placed DO NOT messages everywhere. The air conditioning needs to be replaced and worked poorly even in max 70 degree weather. There is even a supplemental unit sitting in the middle of the second floor. Unit should not be rented.

Condo was okay once you got into it. The listing didn't state this was 2nd floor and required stairs. Spiral stair case to upper level was shaky and not easy to use. Thank God we didn't need it much. The master bathroom was small. Nice porch. Kitchen small, but quite functional. Location convenient.

Not a great beach rental
The condo was very hot. The AC does not work very well in either level. The kitchen is not well stocked. If you're the type that likes to cook, this is not a good rental. Also, the beds are not very comfortable.

A long way from "5 star"...needs some work.
Using the term "5-star" a more than "a bit of a stretch". I think with some effort and upgrades, you may be able call this a 4 star experience. However, it is no where near that when we stayed in August 2021. Darla B's review was very similar to our experience. From cleanliness to beach towels to cleaning supplies. It was missing some of the basic things you'd expect as a "guest". We actually washed the sofa cover. A lot of little things need repair (bath towel holders, blinds, dirty walls) and/or replacement (bed sheets, rugs, patio furniture, towels, cloths). Patio furniture is grubby and needs to be replaced. Our overall feeling was that it was "a bit grubby". Several walls need a good scrub and re-paint. A/C is not strong enough to cool the entire unit, especially the "loft". 2 spot cooling units provided to supplement. The standard A/C system should be adequate, but it is not. Owner was "not appreciative" when we checked-in to ask about cleanliness of the unit. Pools is great! Location is good. I couldn't recommend staying here, until it was substantially improved / upgraded. It it was, I'd stay again.

My opinion
What mattered most was that we had a good time in HHI. Impression of the property from the description was not as accurate in my opinion. I believe the cleanliness of the toilets / toilet's bases on the inside / outside could have been better, otherwise the bathrooms were fine. In reading one review regarding the cleanliness of the couch, it appears the stain was treated. The bedding for the upstairs twin is pilling and could be replaced. We did have one window treatment fall down by simply adjusting the curtain although it appeared that a brace was missing. The one patio door to porch was missing the blind as where we had to use a blanket to cover the window in the evening. I was surprised to find that beach towels were not available. My family and I have stayed at other VRBO's where basic needs for the pool and beach were supplied. On that note and in my opinion, it would have been nice to have the standard cleaning products under the kitchen and bathroom sinks for clean up. I forgot to mention to the property manager that water on the top shelf appears to be leaking (condensation?) from the part that is above the top shelf. The pool facility and pool was very nice and close to the unit. I do recommend staying at this VRBO. Thank you.

It was just OK
The house was pretty however needs some spot cleaning. The sofa had a lot of questionable dirty spots on it so we had to put a sheet over it. The listing said there was a queen bed, but there was no queen bed. Only a king, a very uncomfortable sofa sleeper, a twin, a full and two mattresses on top of the bunk that even the kids said were uncomfortable. The owner was very rude when we called for clarity on check in, please keep in mind, customer service goes a long way. A runner needs to be placed on the step in the living room, we had someone fall. Perhaps, directions on how to operate the remotes being that there were several. On one day, the pool had a closed sign yet no one at the front desk had a clue as to why. Overall, the place was pretty yet needs some upgrades.

We had a wonderful vacation. The condo was super clean, big tv’s with streaming channels and very close to the pool. Our only complaint are the stairs to the living room, 5 out of our 6 family members tripped. Maybe a runner on the step down could prevent a fall? No one was hurt and we all would stay here again!

Good but not great.
We liked the location in terms of the proximity to a pool and also restaurants/grocery stores. Great pool but freezing as it is not heated. Suggestions for this post. There is no grill at the condo (should remove from the post), the towels and washrags have seen better days, and there was only one frying pan and it was a medium-sized one, at best, which made cooking a bit challenging. Also, the condo is 1 mile via car, bike, walk/run from the beach, not 3000 feet (1/2 mile). PARKING is listed as an amenity but we were charged $25 dollars when we arrived at the resort. I recalled that one car was included and a second vehicle would be charged. That is no longer in the listing though.

The property was overall nice.
The property was overall nice. Pros: It was in a great location for doing everything on the Island. The resort is awesome. Beach, bike rentals, pickle ball, tennis, golf, shopping, and tons of food options within biking distance. Bike and walking trails everywhere if that is what you like to do. Kitchen and laundry available, which was great. Sheets and towels were provided and were clean. Cons: I specifically asked prior to booking about the availability of the pool, which is in walking distance. When we arrived the pool was not open, all the pool chairs were put away for the season, and the resort website itself said it was closed for the season. I walked around the other communities and their pools were still open with chairs around them. I even went to the resort front desk and they said the pool was closed for the season. The condo was also not as clean as I would have liked. There were crumbs on the dining table and the couch when we arrived. I also found trash and other stuff under the beds from previous renters.
