Friendly and polite staff. The hotel is great for its location. Coffee shops and restaurants downstairs, 7-eleven is around the corner. The room was roomy and bright. The shower is a bit small but the water pressure is great. Overall, it’s great for the value. Will stay again.

The room was actually larger than we expected. Very comfortable. The a/c was strong and adjustable to combat against the high temperature and humidity in Hk. All amenities within the room worked perfectly with 1 exception: the shower drain was slow and water started to rise up within the stall. Quite annoying. On our 2nd night, we had to call room service for de-clogging service. Room service brought in a big commercial vacuum in our room. While the machine was running, the air that it put out was gross and disgusting (naturally). Our advice to any travelers is this: schedule shower drain de-clogging service while you would not be inside the room. We had to as it was in the night time and we couldn’t stand the water accumulation within the shower stall. Overall, the hotel was close to everything. 24-hr 7-eleven is around the corner. Very convenient for mid-night hunger.

First stay at Ibis Sheung Wan in July 2024
My first stay at the Ibis Sheung Wan to visit friends who live in that area. The day I arrived, I took metro and it was a short walk to the hotel. Room was larger than some of the hotels in Hong Kong I previously stayed. My room was at the back, facing other residential buildings so it was quiet. Reception staff were helpful in the main. Plenty of food options and supermarket nearby, and a Money changer across the road. Starbucks + another restaurant on the ground floor - they are not part of the Ibis hotel, as customers are to take lift to the 5th or 6th floor to check in / out. Water machines on the check in floor, near the lifts, bring your own water bottle. On the same floor is Ibis own restaurant / bar / cafe. There is a gym room with a few machines (limited) and weighs. Hotel allows one guest per hour, you need to pre-book a slot (book from the day before or on the same day). Overall, though this is not a new hotel, I was happy with my stay and it met my requirements. My room was cleaned daily, this hotel is not far from transports - Sheung Wan metro station and Sai Ying Pun metro station (both under 10 mins walk) and many buses. I often saw taxis waiting outside for customers. On the last day, I walked to the Airport bus stop nearby - less than 5 mins walk but you will need to cross the road / traffic lights - to catch the Airport bus to the airport. I would stay again if I wanted to be close to Sheung Wan / Sai Ying Pun / HK University area.
