Did what I needed it for, mattress wasn’t the most comfortable I’ve had but it was clean and quiet.

Beware of lady staff
The lady staff will screw up even if you have remind her many times. She will tell ok, next moment she will do another and say another. Never trust her words. She nearly cause me to miss my train.
Holo hostel is close to the train station and within walking distance of downtown (if you like to walk, probably around 20-30 min). The hostel is clean and the rooms were big. There is one bathroom on each floor shared among 4 rooms, we never experienced an issue with this but our floor was not full. The staff were incredibly helpful and met all our needs. Breakfast was ok. I would recommend.
A very convenient hostel close to the train and bus station with large and very clean rooms

Friendly staff
Simple accommodation but the service is good and it is affordable too. If you have a heavy luggage, do ask for a room at lower floor if possible, otherwise, you will have to take many stairs.
Hotel is located on a busy street but you cannot hear the noise from the room. As expected, each floor shares a bathroom. They provide towels and sandals. The shower/toilet are very clean and there was no wait time. It is fairly close to Taroko and convenient to find. Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was a typical Taiwanese breakfast but very good. If you have a car, tell them in advance so you can reserve a spot. Great experience overall.

No Private Bathroom at this hostel
We booked a three-bed room at this hostel/hotel based on the private bathroom listed online. However, each of floor of this building has 1 shared bathroom for ~3 rooms. This hostel has NO private bathrooms. We checked in around 10PM and the guy at the desk seemed annoyed when we told him this was not what we booked.
He eventually brought us to a different building a block away that was not marked as a hotel at all, but had a floor of rooms including a three-bed with private bathroom. It was not the same room pictured online, but was clean and comfortable and met our expectations for the price paid. Luckily our friend spoke Chinese, otherwise we would have been stuck with whatever room they gave us.
The actual hostel building and room looked acceptable to me, it just wasn't what we had booked.
I booked 2 nights. But stayed 5 nights. it was so New and nice and reasonably priced for the quality. . It's the best hostel that I have stayed in ... in my 4 months in Taiwan.
room is very clean. Location is great near train station. service is also great.

hotel room converted into a dorm
My honest opinion, location is great, 10min walk from the train station. Exit via rear. Customer service spoke little English and it was difficult to ask simple Q's. The dorm has a double bunker and double bed. The bed mattress was extremely thin. No lockers. 1 toilet/shower for entire level. Waiting period was long. WiFi was fast. Kitchen was non existence. Free BF was toast and jam. The place was clean. No facilities available. More like a hotel. 2 laptops to use.
