Location and staff were great. Property has not aged well on the exterior and in the rooms. The restaurant, bar and lobby look to have been renovated in the past 5 - 10 years, but the rooms and exterior were dated and dirty.

Where do I start. First, valet was sitting in his car with his girlfriend and not at his station. Got charged $18 to self park in an unsafe area in back of hotel. Had to switch rooms to another floor because of all the noise in the main atrium. Bathroom toilet seat was stained from what I can only assume are cleaning products. Towels were tiny and no soap, shampoo or conditioner in the dispensers. Bed pillows were tiny and lumpy. As for lighting, you have to search for the tiny little switches at every light to turn them on. Only good light was the one at from door. This has been a horrible experience. For the high charge for one night, I get a better quality room at a Holiday Inn. The overall cleanliness of this hotel is not what you would expect for one that has a large conference center. Will not recommend to anyone.

We had a great stay at Southbank for our anniversary and New Year’s Eve. It was a perfect location right for watching the fireworks over the river and a romantic stroll along the river walk. We were also able to walk to a near restaurant for dinner. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The hotel theme was cool. The Christmas decor was pretty. The vending machines in the lobby were convenient. Staff was friendly. The building is clearly old. It could use more thorough cleaning. Our trash cans had no bags, and our toilet paper rolls were half used so hadnt been changed before our stay. I didn't see a single housekeeper.

Beware!!! Rude people!!! I was extremely shocked by the rudeness of the two women at the front desk during check in. Our room was to have a balcony. Upon entry, no balcony. I had to go down to the front desk in the wee hours of the morning 4am to get coffee, kleenex and toilet paper. They acted like I was putting them out! Again, I was met with a different extremely rude woman. Also, trying to navigate their parking setup was time consuming and could be arranged much differently! My husband and I will never return.

Amazing Valet
The two valet young men were Awesome. The younger one that was there when we checked in. Referred us to the Southern Grill and directions of how to walk there. This morning when we were checking out My husband asked the other valet how to park at Everbank stadium and he suggested we leave our car and take the river taxi. We enjoyed our stay and the game.
