Sunset Cottage at The Adams Family Farm

Featured on Unforgettable Glamping Sites in South Carolina. https://www.glampaluza.com/blog/glamping-in-south-carolina Beautiful historic cabin in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cabin is on our private 12 acre horse farm. Located 7 mins from downtown Landrum, SC, voted one of Southern Livings "South's Best Small Towns". 25 minutes to Tryon International Equestrian Center. Enjoy beautiful sunsets over Hogback Mountain, and peaceful walks around the pasture, down to the dock or around the pond to the natural spring.

About the Property:

Enjoy a private escape to the beautiful foothills while relaxing and snuggling in front of the fireplace, taking in the beautiful evening sunsets, or escaping to the porches to sip on your favorite drinks. Relaxation guaranteed. When you want a change of scenery, there is plenty of shopping, dining, and outdoor sport to enjoy in our neighboring small towns. The cabin is approximately 900sf, two stories and has a queen bed upstairs, a twin rollaway bed upstairs and a small pull out sofa (1 person) downstairs. The cabin sleeps 2 adults and 2 children comfortably.

Our cabin has a peaceful, rustic vibe throughout. The stone fireplace is the focal point of the downstairs along with an open kitchen including stove, oven and coffee maker. A full array of cookware and tableware is provided

Feel free to take a stroll down to the pond. Guests are welcome to take a walk around the pond. Site map will be provided to ensure that guests stay on our property.

Sunset cottage is located on our 12 acre farm where we have horses, chickens, ducks, dogs, and cats. The cabin is located about 150’ from our house and the same distance from both our horse barn and riding arena. We try to respect our guests privacy but want to be transparent that this is a working farm and the sounds of hoofs and animals may be present during your stay. Our animals are friendly and occasionally wander up to the cabin to greet our guests. Please see attached picture for an aerial view of the areas.

Free fresh eggs and and milk can be provided with advanced notice.

Unfortunately we do not offer horseback riding or swimming in the pond, but are happy to provide info on local riding arenas or “swimming holes”

**PLEASE NOTE** Hike down to the pond is steep. Please watch your step and be aware that acorns and leaves make for a slippery downhill hike. Fishing is welcome, but no swimming, paddle boarding, or boating allowed. Please do not enter the horse pastures. All animals are in stalls, pens, or pastures during your stay but farm animals can be unpredictable so please keep your distance and ask before petting.
During your stay at this cabin, you'll be close to Links O'Tryon Golf Club. The cabin offers free WiFi and a kitchen.
  • Air-conditioned cabin with kitchen, washing machine and fireplace
  • Free WiFi
  • Just a 5-minute drive from Links O'Tryon Golf Club and 8 minutes from Campobello Town Hall
Sunset Cottage at The Adams Family Farm offers its guests barbecue grills. The front desk is open around the clock.

I recently stayed at this charming cottage in Landrum, SC, seeking solace near my ailing older brother and a quiet space to write. As I parked my vehicle to the side, I was immediately struck by the rustic exterior, a timeworn shell that evoked a bygone era of wilderness and tranquility. Little did I know that this initial impression would profoundly resonate with my soul, blending seamlessly with the cottage’s interior—a doorway into the serenity and simplicity of forgotten days. It was more than a retreat; it was a restorative journey into peace and reflection. A gem.

Peaceful Retreat
We so enjoyed a couple of nights with our adult son who lives in South Carolina. We loved the sweet cottage with the swing bench on the back porch. Reading on the porch amongst the trees and visiting on the dock at the small pond (a short walk from the cottage) were especially sweet. The cottage is updated while holding on to it's old-feel charm. As others mentioned, it does smell a bit musty when you arrive, but the weather allowed us to open windows so it really wasn't an issue. We enjoyed being outdoors and enjoying the beautiful country. Oh! And the Hare and Hound was an excellent restaurant along the quaint downtown street.

Amazing Sunset
If you enjoy history, this cabin is a wonderful place to stay and live out some of the olden days. The integrity of the over one-hundred year old treasure has been preserved while enjoying all of the modern conveniences you could want. We were blessed to watch an amazing sunset one evening while the ducks roamed the yard. This farm on a pond is a special place to visit and enjoy a slower pace of life.

A slice of paradise
We stayed in this most wonderful place in the past, but this visit was even more delightful. To call this place, a slice of paradise is an understatement! The front porch is a great place to experience the peace and wonderment of God's creation. This is also center-stage seating for watching the various farm animals as they go about their daily routines. During this visit we spent some time swinging on the back porch swing. We also enjoyed looking at the lake from this vantage point as we ate a couple of meals on the back porch table. Our visit ended much too quickly but we plan to come again and enjoy another slice of paradise!

Nice rustic cabin with amenities!
The cabin was a very nice place to stay while I was there with my son for a basketball tournament. We enjoyed fishing in the pond. We also enjoyed seeing the animals on the farm. It is a very nice quiet area. Nothing much I could say that would have improved our stay. Would love to come back again.

Sunset Cottage is Better than Advertised!
Sunset Cottage at The Adams Family Farm is a slice of heaven on earth and all of the animals are loads of fun to watch. The rustic cabin, rich in history and charm, provides everything needed other than food, and quite likely the delightful owners may also offer some fresh henhouse eggs. A fishing dock on the property, complete with rods, reels and lures provides many hours of enjoyment. A book in the cabin filled with information from previous guests, mentions nearby towns and places including The Hare & Hound Pub, the Farmer's Market, Hope Thrift Barn, Campbells covered bridge and Pearson's Falls. All of these places were great today but replacing them all at the close of the day was the breathtaking sunset from porch rocking chairs. This story book ending and favorite place is inside the Cottage of hope, love and grace. All this and more is The Adams Family Farm.

History in the making…
The story behind this historic cabin in the woods is reason enough to stay here! Trey Adam’s and his family have taken a piece of history and provided all the modern conveniences to make our visit peaceful and comfortable. We enjoyed fishing in the pond and our daily visits from the ducks. We look forward to coming back in the fall to enjoy foliage. We befriended a local beekeeper who sells his honey on the honor system. What a wonderful community of people call this town their home! Thank you for making us feel like one of the family! God Bless You!

This was our second time staying at The Cabin and, while it was a shorter stay, we enjoyed it just as much if not more. The kids and grandkids enjoyed hiking to the dock on the pond and enjoyed "fishing"/feeding the fish. Hopefully we'll be able to stay again next year.
