Checkin and parking were quick and easy, staff were extremely helpful, and the location was easily walkable to the local hospital, where a family member was having surgery. Restaurant was closed on the night we visited (a Monday), but there were plenty of other dining options a short drive away. Bathroom looked recently remodeled and had plenty of counter space--always a plus!

Gateway in Santa Monica
We needed a handicapped accessible room. It had everything we needed. There was secure access, requiring a room key to use the elevators, the room was clean and comfortable, had all the amenities you could want. Would definitely stay there again.

Noise level from traffic & especially the numerous ambulances arriving at the multiple surrounding medical facilities. Cable tv & wifi were spotty. Continental breakfast is ok but very, very simple & only hot item is pancake machine. Also very little seating for that. Location is very good for getting around the area & parking is great, especially for only $16 a night, rare in LA hotels!

I appreciated the cleanliness of the property and hospitality when initially been greeted. Did not appreciate frequent disruptions in the morning. Checkout was listed as noon but was awoken by housekeeping twice, hours before checkout despite having a do not disturb sign attached on the door. Both times were asked if we were checking out today. Got a call as well asking us if we were going to checkout soon even though we had half an hour till checkout. Felt very rushed to leave even though we have stayed here before and checked out on time. Did not appreciate being woken up early and disrupted constantly.
