Nothing to rave about
The breakfast that they make you pay for was revolting. Went two times to the restaurant next-door that they make you pay for fees for breakfast and you cannot refuse their nightly fees, but one breakfast everything was cold that was supposed to be hot like the eggs and the next day one of our plates look like it was from the day before and the eggs reeked, and the potatoes were so shriveled it was not edible. The eggs that I ordered were supposed to be scrambled, but they were completely uncooked and runny so both plates were ruined. The hotel would be great if you didn’t have to pay $30 a night for the supposed breakfast they do give you two free drinks, but since we don’t drink alcohol we never use them. If that nightly fee was not mandatory, I would recommend this place.

Hôtel bien situé et bon accueil avec explications. Cependant, beaucoup trop de détails déplaisants. Rideaux stores occultant complètement cassés, le lit large mais 1.80m de long !!!! Heureusement, douche super…. Petit déjeuner ( compris dans le prix) absolument affreux, sans goût et froid. Service le plus long que nous avons connu. Une boisson d’accueil offert sans goût et imbuvable. ( Gin Tonic notre choix…) Dommage, nous pensions y retourner 3 nuits pour la fin de notre séjour !!!!

A classic art deco, quaint and original hotel. A little fraid at the edges, but relaxed charming small hotel right on Ocean Drive! Good restaurants and beach sccess un a aage feeling location. Cool!

. The service, rates, and accessibility to the property was a two to one star. Upon arriving a day late due to the storm I was told that arriving late I would still have to pay for the unused night but not the unused resort fee. I took the loss. When arriving the attendant argued that I had to pay the unused resort fee. An extra drink was given as an apology (other issues lead up to this token). That drink is not equivalent to one resirt fee. My reasong as follows; I booked at the Penguin. My driver could not get to the Penguin due to road closures. I had to walk with my luggage the three to four blocks to the Penguin. The attendant stared at my identification and took my reservation information, and stared at the computer for ten minutes. I was thinking I came all this way and after calling and confirming my reservation and emails with management about my travel delays, and unused night and resort fee, that they had lost my reservation, and at 9pm I'd have to find a new hotel. They had booked me at their sister hotel the President. Which I am also reviewing in equal measure. I go through several passages and hallways with staff to get to the President. I have the duscussion of fees. Then, I am informed I am on the second floor, two flights up, and the elevator is broken. AND nobody is there to help me with my bags up the stairs. The lady at the desk later finds me halfway up the steps and helps with my luggage the rest of tge way, because she has a form for me to sign.

South Beach Miami!! Beach & park right across street. Liked that had a lobby for quick meetup or rest. Go next door for morning breakfast then head out for fun adventures.

Terrible experience not with the hotel but with Expedia. I had issues with the fly that was cancelled by airline and The Penguin Hotel Kindly charged just one night instead 3 nights I showed evidence to Expedia multiple times with text messages sent by hotel but no luck with Expedia. Incredibly kind and helpful reception! We were able to see a permanent resident (brindle cat) every day by the president. Additionally, the water pressure was incredibly powerful. Perfect after a long day at the beach/pool. The only downside was that housekeeping could be more frequent, but you are more than welcome to request it.
