Wonderful honeymoon stay
My husband and I stayed at the Dauphine for 5 nights for our honeymoon. The location was great everything was in walking distance including the trolley stations. We stayed in one of the carriage rooms. The room was beautiful, the seawater pool was so relaxing and the right temperature. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. Some of the staff recommended amazing restaurants nearby.

It is just one block off Bourbon street in new orleans. So everything is in walking distance. Very convenient staff was exceptionally nice and polite.

Don't leave anything behind! Wont be returned!!
The room was great and very clean. The service not so much. My issue is when we checked out. Theres no space for you to park when you check in or out. While checking out it started pouring and the courtyard holds water down the alley. Hotel staff did not try to help us whatsoever and we were blocking traffic trying to get our bags in the car so we were rushing. My son thought he grabbed everything but he left his very nice suit still in the bag lying on the bed. We didnt realize it until we got home. We tried to call the hotel for two months to see if theyd gotten it. We'd hoped they would call but that didnt happen. When we went back to New Orleans we stayed at a the Dauphin Hotel instead and walked over to ask and let them know that we had left it. The manager told us that we did not leave it. I told him that I was hoping their staff would have been honest but I should not have expected that in todays world. We left very unhappy about being told we dodnt leave the suit when we know for a fact that we did.

FORGOT to CARE in the City that CARE FORGOT
Rooms are not updated ~ New Orleans is known for a city that does not care, or that "Care Forgot" ~ Bathroom mirrors, mirrored walls lack of silvering from age ~ Jacuzzi bathtub is held together with tape ~ Two refrigerators, one falling from the cabinet ~ No microwave ~ No coffee in room ~ Rooms never serviced, despite our leaving out trash cans and towels ~ Bad locks on gate to facility and rooms, both difficult to secure and open ~ Clearly subject to crime.

Loved the short walk to bourbon. Check in was easy. Cons, the AC was lacking in the room, lamps did not have new bulbs so didn’t work. I thought my room came with a balcony based on the picture but it didn’t it came with a tiny window which I was disappointed about.

Would only recommend if you’re looking for something cheap and okish. Otherwise I’d spend more on much better accommodations. Our first room reeked of mildew. Like laundry that had been left in the wash for 2 weeks. I told a very nice lady at the front desk who told us we could get a different room no problem. Came back later to move rooms and the man at the desk lied saying nothing was available and would not let me speak to his manager. Finally he called her and magically a room was available. When I said something about him lying he totally ignored me. The girl at the front desk the night I checked in seemed bothered by everything. Refused to give us more bottles of water during our stay- online it says nothing about a limit. It’s ridiculous in New Orleans in the summer to not give out water or provide filter water. Rooms clearly need lots of repairs. Wouldn’t dare bathe in the tub. Moldy as can be. Different things didn’t work in any room. Ice machine broken. House keeping loud as can be yelling outside at 8am, trying to get in room even with do not disturb. Pool closes at 10pm which is annoying and not advertised. Tried to go to the bar at the hotel and the bar tender seemed bother by us coming in. Said she was closing early and out of everything we tried to order. Overall disappointing place to stay.

The Dauphine is a charming hotel, we did enjoy our stay, the beds were comfortable, and the amenities were minimal. The only issue we had (which was not to anyone’s fault, but be aware if you can) was our room was street facing which was very convenient and pretty but very loud all throughout the night- cars with loud music, people yelling, trash pick up, and street cleaning. Again this was no one’s fault, but if we were aware of this we would have made an effort to request a different room. Otherwise the location is FANTASTIC! We just paid to park our car on site and could walk everywhere we wanted to go!

Positives: price was great. The bed was comfortable. There was a lot of character to the property. It was in a great location one block from Bourbon Street. There was a bar attached to the main hotel building which was nice if you just wanted to get a drink. Parking was quick and convenient Negatives: for some reason there was a lot of random people hanging around right outside the entrance to the Herman house. Like all hours of the night. Also in our room, there was a hole in the cabinet tree where they used to be a mini fridge and it just looked kind of trashy. They should at least fix that. Also, since I’m from the south and I know how prevalent the Palmetto bugs are, they should make sure there are tight seals around the door that goes outside to make sure they cannot get in. I could see through cracks in the door to the outside.

The property was okay. No extra amenities and had to pay for parking at the hotel. The onsite bar was closed the whole time. I book hotels based on certain amenities so that if for some reason our day out doesn’t pan out they way we wanted, there are things to do at the hotel.

Quaint and Convenient
Staff was super friendly and accommodating. A bit noisy at night given it's proximity to Bourbon, but overall was great. Loved having a balcony.
