Stranger entering room at night!
Reception gave a key to a new customer at 2330. It just so happened to be a key to our room!! We had a complete stranger enter our room at 11.30pm. This was not acceptable on any level!! Hotel apologised but didn’t seem shocked or appalled!!

The website states that that hotel is 7 minutes walk from Newbury showground and this was one of the selling points, but the only safe walking route is 45 plus minutes. I was also charged twice for one of the days parking.

Expensive stay for what it was. Very loud traffic noise all through the night. Asked at reception for a coke at just after midnight and was told I’d have to go to the service station as they had no vending machine etc in the hotel. On arrival the guy at reception couldn’t find our reservation, and his English was extremely limited. Also parking is expensive and not included in the room rate. Barely any channels on the tv despite advertising that there are lots of channels. Pretty disappointed, no better than a travel lodge. Will stay there next time and save some money!

The guy at check in was absolutely lovely, really friendly and helpful. The bed is awful. Rock hard and uncomfortable and it’s going to take a while to recover! Such a shame that the most important aspect of a hotel lets Hilton Newbury down so badly. Restaurant- starters were forgotten but still charged. No rose wine. Skinny fries were just minute scrap ends of potatoes which waiter removed from the bill. Lots to improve!
