Left feeling a bit disappointed!

My husband & I booked a trip to Paris for our 1st wedding anniversary. I emailed the hotel & asked if we could get a room upgrade. I was told our room was upgraded to one with a view of the Eiffel Tower. This was not the case when we checked in. We were actually given someone else's room (Miss Noor celebrating her 21st b'day). When we advised the reception staff he just brushed it off with a sorry & didn't offer to put us in the correct room. For the rest of the time that we were there they kept mistaking me for Miss Noor which got a bit annoying after the 5th time. There wasn't any effort to make our stay special, not even a simple note to say happy anniversary. I believe little touches like that can make a difference to your stay. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the food. The room was clean & comfortable but in the bathroom the overhead shower was awful. Luckily there was a separate handheld showerhead so we used this. Some parts of the hotel could do with a bit of updating. The hotel is situated in a good location with 2 metro stations close by. There's a really nice restaurant called Etchegorry near by (10min walk). The confit duck is delicious!! There's also Chez Gladines a short walk away. This is a local hang out. Food here is quite good too. There's a bakery called Lorette Gourmet Bakery near the hotel. The pastries here are gorgeous and so cheap. We got breakfast here everyday. We had a brilliant time in Paris but left disappointed with the hotel!

Dear Guest, thank you very much for your review concerning your stay at the Mercure Paris Place d'Italie. After checking, I can confirm that we have upgrated your room and you had a "Privilege Room". You are right, you could not see the Eiffel Tower because all the "Privilege Room" in the front were already reserved like a Superior room. The little present was also for you...but unfortunatly the receptionnist made a mistake in the card! We try to do our best to make your stay in Paris unforgettable...but we faild. Perfect stopover hotel

Great place. Easy to find on a main, but relatively peaceful road, and with a short walk to the Metro. Car park is in a road opposite the hotel and is secure. Note that the car park closes at 12pm on Saturdays until Monday morning, but the hotel provide an access key. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Beds (we had a twin room) were large and so comfortable. Great powerful shower (over the bath) with plenty of hot water. Staff very helpful. Didn't use the facilities, but there is a small bar area and lounge. Great cafés near by if you don't want breakfast in the hotel. Perfect spot for a weekend of shopping and site seeing. Felt very safe walking back to the hotel from the Metro late at night.

A lovely hotel for a break

Very we'll positioned, 200m from the Metro, with easy access to all main attractions. Very helpful staff, posted back an item we had left there! No restaurant, but many in the area.

Tolles Hotel

Im Gesamteindruck kann ich das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen. Wir hatten ein schönes Zimmer, nur der Ausblick war so garnicht schön. Da muss man halt Glück haben ! Im Bett schläft man wie auf Wolke sieben! :) Aber für eine Städtereisen für zwei Tage ok! Zwei Metro Stationen sind direkt in der Nähe, mit denen man überall hinkommt ! was ich sehr loben muss, ist das Frühstück. Es war zwar sehr übersichtlich, aber für jeden was dabei und sehr lecker . Einen Punkt Abzug gibt es, weil eins von den zwei gebuchten zimmern beim Check in nicht fertig war, das sollte nicht sein! Sonst ein wirklich schönes Hotel !

Mercure Hotel Rande des Zentrums, Place d'Italie

Pros: moderne, saubere Ausstattung in den Zimmern
Cons: in nicht zu entfernter Zukunft ein Anstrich des Gebäudes von drausen
Location: mehrere traditionelle Cafes
Hotel mit etwas verbrauchter Fassade, im Inneren aber sehr modern und sauber. Guter Service bei Check In & Out, Frühstück

Wir bieten Sie zwei Zimmern Möglichkeiten, ein mit Dusche (renoviert zwei Jahren früher), und die anderen mit ein Badewanne. sie haben ein renoviert Zimmer bekommen, und wir verstehen leider nicht warum Sie unsere Zimmer style nicht gefallen haben. Im Paris sind die Gebäude kleiner als anderer Hauptstadt aber unserem Zimmer sind grösser als 18 Quadratmeter Groß Mit freundlichen Grüßen Anna Bidoli Hotel Direktorin
