Booked with 2 friends traveling into Navarre Florida, understanding that it wasn’t going to be the Ritz.
The property is listed as remodeled. What it does not mention is as follows:
It’s a double wide trailer in a neighborhood of only double wide trailers.
The trailer directly in front of the property has grass 6 feet tall. The day we arrived the property grass was approximately 2 feet tall. We did receive a message from the owner apologizing for the grass height and the next day day 2 a guy arrived and serviced the yard.
Also regarding the exterior, there is one porch light on the front of the property and no lighting anywhere else. The rear of the trailer sits about 20-30 feet from a heavily wooded area with no boundary or flood lights.
Now for the interior. It’s a dated (1980s) double-wide trailer that’s really old and musty. The picture are incredibly misleading. Throughout the property there are uneven floors and spots that feel like you might fall through.
The walls have visible water damage that retained the discoloration even after the attempt to add new paint.
The disclaimer or rules upon arrival begins with the following statement:
“More than likely there will be other guests staying here so be courteous of each other.”
The rules go on to say:
Each occupant will receive a key to an individual bedroom and all the common areas would be shared except for the assigned bathroom and assigned shelf in the refrigerator.
This listing does not state that it should be expected to have strangers sharing such a small poorly lit and inadequately ventilated dwelling.
We found bugs and long hairs in one shower and paper thin musty towels.
There is one set of towels in the larger bedroom.
The washing machine is also circa 1980 and the dryer is not vented to the exterior of the trailer it simply expels the heat back into the trailer. So don’t use the dryer in Summer during the day, the tiny window air conditioning units cannot compete with the outside temperature and the interior dryer exhaust.
There are wall coverings strategically placed to hide the painfully obvious water damage.
We did not use the furnishings other than bedroom and shower because while attempting to use the TV more than one cockroach was observed in the living room area. We have video and photos that we are sharing with the owner and VBRO.
