I been to a couple of all inclusive hotels & I loved this place. Got to try all restaurants & the buffet where all really good. Staff was friendly. Rooms was nice. I really enjoyed my stay.

This resort is dated. Its run down and not in great shape. Food areas are not air conditioned and buffets are not temperature controlled. Food was sub par at best. Me and my wife ate 1 thing all week out of fear of getting food poisoning again. (wife got sick on day 1, was sick for 3 days, we suspect the salad, as it was the only thing we didnt both eat) Staff was easy to deal with, however no follow through on anything they said they would do. Room cleaners didn't change the sheets in our bed, ever. Every night climbing into a made bed, there was sand in them still. Beds are not comfortable at all. We complained about our stay to their support staff, and they and Expedia both pointed fingers at each other for getting refunds back or transferring resorts. So we stuck it out. As we were checking out, they offered us room upgrades but only if we come back. Would have been a nice gesture to offer that while we were there having a bad time. I will never return here and will steer people away from here if I can. It was awful.

Another great stay at this resort. The staff is why we continue to come back. Kenddalicious is amazing, kind, has lots of energy and is the heart and soul of this place. Chicky Baby is so nice and remembered us from before. New members of entertainment are also great. Shout out to Victor, Moises, Alberto. Grecia came around every morning and talked to us. Alfredo, Carlos and Hugo were great taking care of us at breakfast and lunches. Martin was great to talk to as well. Miguel and Eber at the pool bars were amazing and friendly. Cristobal at the Sportsbar is excellent. Margarita is a lovely person and always there with great excursions. Without these individuals this resort wouldn’t be the same. The staff and service we experienced this time around was outstanding. Thanks to all for a great stay

I have been to several all-inclusive resorts (I think this was #11), so I have a pretty good idea of what a resort should be like. Ocean Maya Royale is a very standard, nice resort. It is clean, there are plenty of chairs for the beach/pool, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The buffet had a different theme every night, so it wasn't always the same food. We only ate at the Mexican El Charro and the Italian Dolce Vita for a la cartes. They were both good. Really my only complaint was how hot it always was in the buffet area as well as the lobby. Most all-inclusives have a nice breeze in the lobby but this one did not have any airflow and it was constantly miserably hot. I don't know what the remedy would be other than cutting down some of the greenery to provide better airflow from the ocean. I get it, it's Mexico. But it was a very hot week that we were there and the only place to cool down was in the room. This resort was SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive than other adults-only resorts, so we expected there to be something wrong with it or lacking. We did not experience anything bad and felt like this was an amazing price for what we got. Thanks to Dali (sp?) for being so great. My boyfriend had so much fun at the Spanish lessons!

Pro: The resort was beautiful. The staff were amazing. The property was safe. They provided transportation and shows daily . Con: They have different priorities and accommodation depending on your color of brackets. Travelocity customers were supposed to have the black and gold, but was giving the green . You could not dining at certain restaurants or drink high quality alcohol. Spa treatments not included.

Everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We took this trip for our 20th wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were greeted immediately and offered drinks while we waited to get checked in. Our privilege butler, Fabian immediately arrived and our check in process was quick! Fabian showed us to our room, explained all of the amenities and made all of our dinner reservations. He was always available via an app to answer any questions or accommodate our needs. The beach staff, Jorge, and Jesus were our favorite! It seemed like they were waiting for us each day and setup the spot that they knew we liked. They were so much fun and very personable during our beach time! The evening activities were so much fun and it was worth it to try all of them. After dinner we would make our way to the sports bar to see our friend Jesus. He learned our likes very quickly and always said “see you in 5 minutes!” We met Josue at the privilege restaurant and he was the kindest young man. To learn about each of the employees and get to know them on a personal level made our trip so special. A special anniversary dinner, flowers on the bed, and a note from Fabian was a welcomed surprise! The food was amazing, the resort was clean and all of the staff were exceptional! This was our first all-inclusive trip and we will definitely be back! Thank you all for making this special trip for us such a wonderful experience!

For an older resort it is easy to navigate and walk around. The food was sub par, but as to be expected for the masses they are cooking for. The actual dining options are decent, but nothing to brag about but, they did try to offer options to cater to many. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the bartenders and coffee shops were my go to spots. Rooms were outdated and need a facelift. Premises could use upgrades as well as the entertainment room/theater were old and pool tables were not leveled and the air hockey table was inoperable for the most part.

This resort exceeded our expectations, the staff were friendly and professional we had the opportunity to visit another resort for a day it was much bigger and grand but the vibe and atmosphere did not compare to Ocean Maya Royale. A huge thank you to our butler Alfredo who was there always and made us feel at home. Our stay was relaxing and refreshing, all the food was delicious and fresh the grounds were well manicured and appealing. We miss it already and can’t wait to come back! The privilege program was the extra luxury we wanted and received. Thank you for your hospitality.

Traveled with 6 people for my birthday. I upgraded to Jr Privilege Suite. I found my “upgrade” was the exact room as my travel partners who did not upgrade. The room I got was nothing like what was pictured; had no seating area. Food throughout resort was really good and there was plenty of seating. The concierge service was good and made it easy to make reservations. Pool is fun area but games at pool and events need work as I’ve been to numerous resorts and this was probably the least enthusiastic staff, but they tried. Taxi service at hotel is a rip off. I was charged $60 to go to Walmart which was less than 8 miles round trip. Hotel grounds are nicely kept and I’d say it is overall clean. Room service was on point especially in the middle of the night. Other than the room debacle the one major issue was at the Sports Bar. The bar tenders were visibly frustrated at how busy it was and intentionally turned off the AC to get people to leave (we heard them discussing it). They then refused to turn it back on, telling us no “it’s too crowded.” The crowed is of all mixed ages so that’s cool. I felt safe in the property and my bags were safe by the pool. No issues.
