Truly get away from it all on Little John Island in Yarmouth, ME. Accessible by car from Cousins Island, Little John Island sits quietly in Casco Bay, but is just minutes away from Yarmouth Village, Freeport outlet shopping, and Portland's Old Port. Whether you are looking to sit back, relax and enjoy the calming waters and scenic views of Casco Bay, or you want to get out and experience all that Southern Maine has to offer, this is the place to be. Newly constructed in 2013, our second floor studio apartment has a queen bed and full size futon allowing 3 people to sleep comfortably. The kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, 2-burner stove large double basin sink, toaster oven, microwave and is fully outfitted with cookware, plates, utensils, and entertaining supplies. There is a separate dining area with a table and chairs for 4 along with seating for 2 at the bar. The living room area, with 2 chairs, a futon, and a large coffee table, is a cozy area to play games or sit and visit while looking out onto the water. The 3/4 Bathroom also houses a stackable washer/dryer and linens for the unit. Off the dining area, there is a deck with 4 chairs and 2 small tables where you can sit and enjoy the breeze off the water and look out onto Casco Bay. There is also a small grill located on the deck. Outside there are stairs down to the water, where you can walk along the rocks, go for a swim, or go paddling on one of the kayaks available for use with rental. If you prefer to stay on land, Little John Island provides a wonderful setting for walking or biking (bikes are provided). There is ample parking allowing for friends and family to come join you. Just a short drive North, you will find Freeport, which is home to numerous outlet stores, restaurants, a movie theater, and the LL Bean flagship store. Journeying a short ways South and you will find all the shops, restaurants, and history that the Old Port has to offer. There are also multiple restaurants and bars in Yarmouth as well as a supermarket. Very easy access to I-295 and I-95 for those interested in exploring other parts of the state. Also very close to Rte. 1 which will take you for a scenic drive up the coast of Maine.
