You money is worthy. Nice clean all inclusive food is pretty good. Plenty of activities. Friendly staff. I got the best housekeeper Brígida help us every day and went above and beyond. The restaurant steakhouse is the best the waiter Monserate the best. We have a great time at the Riu Party. I will definitely come back again.

While some of the staff is nice and friendly, some seem to hate their job and if you say “thank you” or “gracias” they just ignore you as if they hate what they are doing. I have been to many Rius, mostly in Cancun, and Riu Republica is the most disorganized resort I’ve been to. They have a daily activities schedule in their up but they don’t follow them. Things like Bingo, Kahoot, never happened while I was there and when I asked some employees they didn’t even know what it was. The entertainment team does some activities when they feel like, rarely following a schedule. The evening shows consist of repetitive Spanish music and even when they abounded a Vegas Show it was changed to a Tropical Latino show last minute. Room was ok but we could not control our AC. We couldn’t even turn it off and it got pretty cold in our room night. The pools are ok but the main party pool plays repetitive Spanish music. They simply can’t “read the room” Food was ok at some restaurants but the steakhouse dinner was terrible. Steak had no seasoning and fries tastes as if they were done the day before. Spanish and Kulinariun restaurants were ok. I’m certainly never going back to this resort!

This was our fifth time to this property. This is our happy place with nice pools including a 40 meter pool for lap swimming in the morning. Ocean water is fantastic temp this time of year (November). Each year the quality drops a bit. The gym equipment is breaking and has never been repaired since the first time we went. Several poolside changing room doors do not work and have never been repaired. The service in the restaurant is dropping off. I wouldn't mind getting my own drinks if it was a bit easier but they seem to be in the servers areas. Walkways are no longer swept clean throughout the day like they used to be. Towels are in short supply. All that said these are minor issues and it is still a great deal and we will probably return next year.
