This is our second trip in 4 months!!! We would definately go back but they are closing the resort.
We 1st went November to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The weather, service, food, drink, and employees were fabulous. So in January we booked again and it was better than the 1st time. The staff actually remembered us!! Andre (pool bar), Jason, Nevin and Hagrain made our trip worth every penny. We would highly recommend this resort . Unfortunately it's closing for renovations. We're hoping the same staff return.

Glad to get away from Minnesota in January
We were picked up fro the airport without any trouble. The resort is gorgeous and the staff is extremely friendly. Our room was beautiful and we could see the ocean from our Garden View balcony! The shower was awesome ( a rain shower, handheld shower, four body sprayers, and a seat )! The beach was nice but we didn't swim tons. Kayaking and snorkeling was fun. The food was absolutely delish!!! The japanese and french restaurants were to die for good! The habachi grill at the japanese restaurant was really fun. Breezes Rio Bueno was everything we wanted in an all inclusive resort. Loved our stay:)

Relaxing place, great staff, but not as advertised
Been to Jamaica 4 times now for a winter retreat, different resort each time. Atmosphere: Smaller more laid-back resort. The staff was incredibly friendly; the bartenders were fun and kept the drinks flowing. Food: The buffet food was ok. The food at the reservation restaurants was great, the French restaurant and the Sushi bar were excellent. Room: A standard room. So-so beds. The room had very little lighting. The handles in the shower kept falling off. Beach: The beach is small. If you wade out about 15 feet, you will probably step on a sea urchin, as there are 1000’s. The Snorkeling was so-so. It was too choppy to scuba dive and use a Hobie Cat when we were there. They don’t allow the Kayaks to go out past the swimming area, which defeats the purpose of kayaking. False Advertising: The Nude side had better amenities, and a much better beach, sandy all the way out. However, what they don’t tell you on the website is you are not allowed access to the Nude side. It’s virtually 2 separate resorts. For access, you have to pay a hefty “upgrade” fee per day or take out a second mortgage for a 4 hour pass to the beach! They should tell you this on the website. So if you’re looking for a place with a nude beach, look elsewhere, there are better resorts in Jamaica. Overall, I liked a few other resorts I've stayed at better, but it was a relaxing getaway.

Liked it sooo much better when it was the Grand Lido!!
Things are just not the same since the change from Grand Lido to Breezes Rio Bueno, there is no bar outside open after 6 or 7pm anymore--come on, it is Jamaica, we are from the cold right now-we want to be outside and enjoy the weather!! Food was not as good and not as many choices at the buffets each meal either. Less entertainment and fun things going on during the days and at night too....it was more rainy, so some of that couldn't be helped. the all-inclusive doesn't include room service any more and the fridges in the room are suppose to be stocked, we arrived on a Friday afternoon, and our fridge didn't get stocked til Wed!!--after we complained a few times. The par 3 golf course is in really BAD shape. It now also costs $33 per trip to go to the Breezes Runaway Bay golf course for the two of us, and then about another $150 for cart, caddie fee, green fees, and caddie tips each day---about $90pp now versus about $45pp before. The air conditioners are loud, the lighting bad, and the pillows and mattresses terrible. Friends had their room broke into and the safe torched open and cash and camera taken, so security is lacking?? I think an upgrade is in order before we would ever go back or recommend it to people again:( And it used to be our favorite place to go!!!

Could have been better for 4 Star
Firstly the downside... you can't control the weather and although it rained half the time we were never given the "sunshine guarantee" promised by superclubs (no extra nights in other words). The food was good (especially the jerked chicken) but always the same. The beach was ok, but the water had sharp objects and I would not recommend venturig out. The hot tub was never hot and the pool was freezing.... so although it was a balmy 80, I didn't quite get the winter warm up I had hoped for. They don't re-stock your fridge in the room unless you pay for it - even water. Up side - They did have top shelf liquores - and my husband loves his crown! Showers were roomy with lots of nozels and HOT water... the French restuarant and sushi were exquisite and many raved about the japanese as well. You could make all your reservations the first day for your entire stay instead of long waiting lines every morning. The bar staff was both entertaining and made the trip fun... especially Jason, Andre, Juliet and my man Dewayne!

Excellent First Trip to Jamaica
Our first trip to Jamaica was an amazing experience and Breezes played a huge role in that. Everyone we came in contact with was incredibly nice and bent over backwards to ensure our vacation was great, especially Dario at the Pasta Cafe. The premium drinks were absolutely fantastic, the rooms were comfortable and clean, the food was phenomenal, and the view of the beach was spectacular. However, our only complaints were food being unavailable at random times during the day and night, the beach was less than stellar and swimming in the water was difficult due to all the rocks, the service was definitely on island time, and making reservations to the restaurants was more of a hassle than it needed to be. Overall, we thought the resort was beautiful, the people were great, and we would definitely recommend Breezes Rio Bueno to family and friends.

Our 2nd. visit to this resort and we will go back
This resort used to be called Grand Lido Braco. Breezes has taken ownership and are making some needed improvements. We were very happy with everything they had to offer, and thought we received our money's worth booking the whole package through Expedia. We saved about $600 over what we would have spent otherwise. One word about transportation to the resort from the airport by the shuttle provided by the resort, we had to wait approximately one hour for the shuttle bus to fill up from other arriving flights. We would suggest that if you want to get to the resort without delay, take a private car which can be provided for extra cost by the resort, we believe it's worth it.

Perfect
This was our first trip to an all-inclusive resort. It was the best vacation ever, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. We went during the traditional hurricane season, so there weren't a lot ot people there - which was nice for us. We're also really glad the resort didn't allow children under 16. We tried to participate in everything that was offered - pool volleyball, snorkeling, bingo, trivia games, etc. It was a blast.

Friendly staff that needs more training, great value with all inclusive program, grounds/building need work and maintenance. Pool area and food/bar are terrific. Beach is clean and nice but small and man made.

Great location on the beach, away from the main road and other resorts
We had a great week at Breezes Rio Bueno. Not the nicest accommodations we've ever had, but definitely worth the price. Some of the drawbacks first (so we can end on the positive note we left with): * Transport is free, but work on tips... so take cash * in the room - leaking shower (guessing in connection of glass panels), condensation or leak from a/c causing a bit of mildew on the wall. * HARD TO GET CHANGE! Getting change was next-to-impossible most times, so take small bills for tips *nightly mosquito fogging probably not to great for the lungs or environment, although helped limit mosquito population * not everything available all the time, but always something... so you're never really fully without :) * super-expensive off-site trips - great fun, but overpriced. Ask around to see if you can swing something more reasonable not scheduled through resort. * some food mediocre; French, Japanese and beach party were all great though SUPER things: * it's a small resort, which was great for us because it immediately felt like a community. We even met new friends that we've travelled to see since our week in Jamaica! * beautiful grounds, and right on the ocean * great staff - your kind treatment of them goes a long way, too * remote area, so not crammed next to the road or other resorts * beach party was fun - and the food was scrumptious! * always a place to get drinks - and 1:30 am pizza * American $ accepted * great value for your money We'd definitely return here again!

Employees are very pleasant
The Breezes Rio Bueno is a very attractive property. The staff was very accomodating regarding room maintenance issues(air conditioning was not working properly) and resolved the problem in moments not hours or days. The employees at this property were very cordial from the gardeners, kitchen associates, maintenance workers, waiters, bartenders and lobby staff. I most always received a good morning or a salutation from all of the above mentioned. The food was good but it would have been nice to see a chef's daily special from the Italian restaraunt and the lunch cafe by the pool, as there menus were pretty limited. The jerk meat from the pool cafe was delicious all the same. There was one stand out at the resort who was a bartender and his name was Courtney. This young fella had the late shift at one of the bars and often was inundated at times with thirsty drunk vacationers. He always remained cool, professional, patient and still concocted these delicious drinks. He was a standout but once again I think all the associates are well trained regarding guest relations. The activities that were offered I thought were very good. There was a golf driving range, golf course, putting green, gym, various water craft, and a game room. So getting drunk was not your only option at this resort. The only thing lacking at this resort is a nice beach. They really need to invest some money on this. The entire ocean floor of the beach was coral, rocks, and sea urchins. Uninhabitable to humans

Beautiful Place Just needs better food!
Pros: Everything was nice from the airport transportation to the pool volleyball games. drinks were good. Rooms are located at a good distance from pool and beach, not too much walking. staff is friendly not looking to get tipped at all contrary to my previous trips to other places. Cons: The food was not up to part with the rest of the hotel, if you go for 3 or 4 days your ok any more than that. the food will start to taste worse every time. The only true restaurant in this place where the food is really really good is the French, which you need SLACKS, SHOES, AND A DRESS SHIRT. OR ELSE YOU WONT GET IN. YOU ALSO NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION DAYS IN ADVANCE. My recommendation for this place to be a true 4 star hotel is MAKE YOUR MENU MORE LIKE THE FRENCH RESTAURANT... to be honest the only reason I would't go back is the food!!!

Read before you book.
After arriving to the airport, had to wait an hour to get to the resort. Front desk once getting to the resort or should I say two star hotel was horrible. This resort cares only about the money and money only. Once they have your money they can care less about your concerns. Food was good. Nothing different then what you would get home. Make sure to have plenty of money, one for tipping (even though they say you don't but if you want good service you better.) Plus some staff will remind you. Then make sure to have four people with you if you want to do any tours because that's what they will tell you. Can't book some tours unless four people go! You are better off staying at one of the ain islands so you won't get bored. They offered paddle boats, and other items. Hope they have them licensed before youget there. Along with having the hot tub fixed since they only had one working.

Great time but not a great resort. Wish the staff wanted you there.
Some of the other reviews stated that the restaurants were not air conditioned. 2 are and 2 are not. The Japanese and the French are not. We did not have a problem with no AC as we are from the south and it was actually cooler than at home. Biggest Con - We didn't get the feeling that the people really wanted to help us. You had to get someones attention to get service. Biggest Pro - We liked the small size. You could get to know people and no huge building to look at. Overall we had a good time, and the resort was clean. The food was just okay with the exception of the French restaurant which was great.

Overall nice resort to visit
Had a really nice stay at resort! Although there was a couple from the nude side that was bothersome. The food was exceptional! Staff was very friendly and nice! Got along great with two of the staff member (Audrea) the bartender at the far end bar and (Richard) the chef at victorian markets they made the stay even more comforting very outgoing people A+++ job. Was a little disappointed when I ask management if Richard could play a game of pool with us and was told no! Beach was beautiful very nice sunsets. Definately a couples resort which was nice since we were there on our honeymoon!! Would go back again!!

Saving for the next trip
We are wanting to save to go again. THe experience was amazing. I wanted to bring home over 1/2 of the people that work at the resort. Very friendly, seemed like they enjoyed their jobs, and made all of us feel special. The food was good. The only problem was getting into the good restraunts that required reservations. We did get in the Japanese one and tried for the second time it was open but not openings. So, maybe the restraunts like this could open more than 2 nights during the week. THe activities were wonderful. Richard, one of the activity directors was able to get my husband to participate in several activities, which was fun!! My 2 daughters was involved in most of the activities as well. I love how honest all of the workers were as well. I left my bag on my chair one morning after eating, got a little ways from there and realized it, my husband went back and one of the workers was on their way to take it to the main desk. Also, one of the cleaing ladies found a purse in the restroom, came out and asked if it belonged to anyone that was sitting at the tables. When no one claimed it, she took it to the main desk. I bought some shades for $15 that broker on the way home but other than that, our experience was wonderful and I have been tell all my friends they should save up and travel to Jamaica.

The resort is going downhill since Breezes has taken over. I would not reccomend anyone going unless you stay on the au natural side. THey definately treat that side better and cater to them.

Rio Bueno - Very Relaxing.
This is NOT a party resort. Very relaxing resort for Couples looking for a getaway. -Food was pretty good, not 5 star but what you would expect for All-Inclusive. -Beach is OK. Not good for swimming. Lot of sea urchins just 5 feet from sand. Good for snorkling and water activities. Pool is very nice. - Resort is set up like an old plantation. Very nice setting. I was very happy with my less expensive Garden View. Very nice Garden in front of my room which offered a walking path through the garden to the beach and main area. - Staff is very friendly. Always smiling and willing to help. - Plenty of drinks and bars to find them at. Very quiet little bar at the end of resort. Nice place to watch sun set with a cold drink in hand with your loved one. I will be going back again sometime in the near future. If you leave the resort for an excursion/tour, make sure to bring cash. You'll need small bills because everyone outside the resort expects a tip. Including the driver/tour guide.

Not Breezes Best
My wife and I arrived at Breezes Rio Bueno (not in Falmouth but in Rio Bueno) for our vacation on June 20th. The location is about 1 hour East of Montego and 1 hour West of Ocho Rios (Dunns River). Overall the place was nice but it is NOT a 4 star place. The beach was rocky and the snorkeling was not very exciting plus there are sea urchins in the swimming area (be careful). The golf course is a modified 9 hole course which is fairly easy, but it was included except for cart/club rentals which made it a nice feature. Multiple restaurants were not open at the same time and the food lacked a good selection; although, the food was respectible. There are so many workers standing around doing nothing, but yet service was not as expected; no pool service and workers overall were lazy. We found out that there is a all nude section of the resort which is much nicer than the regular section.; however, there is a charge of 85 UDS/day/person to use the nude facilities from 10:00 to 2:30 PM; Crazy! We ended up transferring to Breezes in Negril (for an additional fee). This place was much better and was up to a four star rating. Stay in Negril or Ocho Rios.

Great Customer Service
Here is my honest opinion of this hotel: The Not So Good: Bed was hard and pillows French restaurant was good but not great Japanese restaurant was good but not great The jewelry store on site was a ripoff. All the purses(for sure) and from what we can tell the jewelry were fakes. I would expect the resort to only invite companies that offer true products (very disappointing) The Good: The people. EVERY person was outstanding. Not only the staff, but every other traveler that we met. Service was top notch!!!! The staff!!! Victoria's Market is the buffett. We ate just about every meal here because the food was outstanding! One of the best buffetts I have ever had. The staff!!! Top Shelf liquor is included. We never had a problem getting top shelf liquor. All the water sports were included. We did the glass bottom boat and a dive trip. Both were outstanding. Once again, the staff set the tone! The staff!!! While the food at the French and Japanese restaurants was somewhat disappointing, the service at the French restaurant was professional and exactly what you would expect at a high end restaurant. The chef at the Japanese restaurant was hilarious. I have eaten at a lot of Japanese restaurants and he was by far the best chef I have ever had. Finally, in case you missed it. The staff made this a great trip. Thanks to all of them

A Bit Disappointing
This hotel is great if you're only there to relax and enjoy only the local cuisine. The resort itself from the exterior is beautiful but the rooms are very run down. there is very little to do on the resort itself and the days are mainly spent in the one pool by the bar. The best part was one staff member at the french restuarant named Coy. He is the one and only reason that a return trip will ever happen. He is a fantastic human being who loves his job. We visited his restuarant 3 times in the 7 days that we were there beacuse he made our days worth the trip. I don't see a return trip to this resort, there are a number of others in Jamaica that we would go to. Please visit Jamaica, it is beautiful. Just pick a different resort.
