Good hotel

Nice hotel, good location close enough to the city Centre to either walk (around 30 minutes) or use the public transport which is very reliable with stops located outside of the hotel, staff were very accommodating and room was clean and comfortable, the only complaint I have is the noise levels within our room, generally the hotel was quiet but the noise from the room above walking around during the night was disturbing throughout the night and did mean on a couple of nights out sleep was disturbed, the hotel is also having work done to the outside and there was scaffolding outside of our window of which we were not made aware of before our arrival and we were awoken by workmen a couple of mornings during the week.

Good location for all your needs

Tram stop right outside the door. Plenty of lovely eating places nearby. Market just round the corner. Oosterpark at top of road. Hotel very comfy and staff helpful. Altogether a great location. Be happy to recommend to a friend.

Marvellous Manor(s)

We went to the Hampshire last Friday with 4 other friends. The hotel is easy to find when you get off at Muidepoort station. You can get the train from Schipol airport and takes about 25 mins to the hotel. The check in was smooth despite the fact we were early and only waited about 20 mins to get the rooms requested.Th e rooms are lovely, clean, modern and well equipped with coffee/ tea/ creamers and little kettle. Have nice shower gel/shampoo in shower. We had a view of the main street and onto the side street. The hotel was quiet and relaxing. There are several trams stops outside the hotel which take you into Dam Square etc. We purchased a 72 hour travel pass at the airport for 17 euros. You can use it on all transport......worth every penny as you jump on and off the trams several times when out exploring. The only unfortunate experience was at the hotel restaurant. We ordered our meals and waited a while for them. The bar couldnt serve the Heineken from the pumps because of a 'problem' so hade to have (expensensive) bottled Pironi. When the meals arrived my pizza was just warm and I was hard pushed to find any mozarrela cheese. The other 5 meals were all the wrong ones and all had to go back. However in fairness when the correct ones arrived everyone said hey were lovely. As a gesture by the manager we did not have to pay for the food at all. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hampshire and is a great location for exploring. We would all definately return again without hesitation.

Birthday Weekend

The Manor Hotel was fantastic. They provided a warm and friendly welcome when we arrived and had even put balloons in the room for my partners birthday with a congratulations message. Each member of staff we met had a smile and a hello. The location is about 10-15 minujtes by tram, from the centre of Amsterdam. There are several really good bars near to The Manor hotel. The best of which was Kuijpers just a hundred yards away. If you trek a little further, down the side of oosterpark, there are two more bars and a smokin barrels lobster and burger restaurant. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay at a quality hotel.

We went on a festival a bit outside of Amsterdam, that's why we decided to choose a hotel not in the center. But the tram connections from the Hotel to the city are right in front of it. the only thing was, that the room did not cool down with the A/C the first two days. the rest was all in order and friendly employers.
