I love the people and the cute little hotel and I loved our room. The air conditioner was a little difficult to figure out whenever I open the window. It would turn off and it didn’t seem to ever decrease in temperature even when we close the window. But overall, I really like the place and was glad I picked it.

The folks at the Columbia were very friendly and helpful. They arranged a breakfast for us on our checkout day in spite of the fact that we left before the free breakfast time. They arranged a taxi to the airport for us and our oversized luggage. The hotel itself was lovely and the bed very comfortable. Overall a wonderful experience.

We thought everything about this place was great, but by far the best was the staff. I'm not sure I have ever stayed a place with a staff as friendly and helpful, and willing to go the extra distance. After we had checked out and taken a cab to the airport to fly back to the states, my wife's phone came out of her pocket in the cab and she didn't notice till we were in the airport and the cab had left. But we called the hotel which we had already checked out of, and they tracked down the cab and got it to return to the airport with the phone. We could not be more grateful.

Hotel Columbia is amazing!
This is an amazing and quaint hotel in downtown Rome. Close to the central station and east walking distance to all of the famous attractions. The staff was wonderful. They were very friendly and helpful in every way. Breakfast was great. I would highly recommend.

We loved this place. The location is extremely convenient for train travel and close enough to most of the major sights that we could walk, though we did take some taxis to save time. The best thing about the place was the staff, which went above and beyond to look after us, even calling us to see if we planned to use a train the day we were going to check out and to warn us that there was going to be a train strike.

The hotel was mediocre and average. Not particularly bad but not that good either. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful but the hotel is old and in need of massive upgrades. The breakfast was good. The room was small and there were no plugs beside one of the beds which was a minor inconvenience. The water flow for the washroom tap was very low. The housekeepers did not leave any toiletries in the room after the second day and I had to get it myself from the end of the hall.

The friendliness of the staff is incredible. I read this in the reviews before I booked and it is absolutely true. I'll give two examples: staff reached out a few days before check-in to ask about my arrival time. I arrived at 11am and the enured room was ready! I also had to leave at 6:30am to catch a flight. The staff provided a 'take away' breakfast as the buffet wasn't open yet. I highly recommend this hotel.
