The Hyatt is absolutely stunning and gives you a sense of being well-cared for! The rooms are clean, modern, and come with a fridge (though no microwave). The pools are beautiful, and there are hourly activities for kids throughout the day. There are several restaurants on-site, but they are quite expensive for the quality. The food is average and under-seasoned. The breakfast buffet costs $75 for two people after gratuities and taxes, which is quite steep. Be aware that the resort is quite isolated. You'll need a rental car or be prepared to spend $60-150 on round-trip taxi services. Most of the service was excellent, except for the last day. We had a late flight and spent a few hours at the pool. Unfortunately, the bellman, Gadiel Vega, left our bags outside for hours instead of securing them. He also pressured us to use a different taxi service and sent our driver away, claiming we had left. It seems he might be working with certain taxi drivers to overcharge guests for a kickback. It's disappointing that Hyatt would allow such practices.

I really loved how secluded the property was and that there are several security check points to drive thru to get to the property. I also loved how friendly and helpful everyone was. Also if you needed to go anywhere the staff would pick you up in a golf cart and take you around the property. The only downside is that there is not much close by that we found opened late for entertainment or places to eat. But love the Hyatt as always and will be back.

Nice place. Good pool/beach. Big room. Beautiful grounds. Would say food is pretty bad overall though. Would recommend eating off resort. Also the store they have is insanely overpriced. $60 for a tiny bottle of sunscreen and bugspray. And i paid like $60 for a plastic snorkel at the rentals booth bc i didnt ask the price first

I'm perplexed by the 1-star reviews, it seems like there's a Jekyll and Hyde thing going on. The people who complained about bird poop on the patio and mosquitos on the property right next to a tropical rain forest should wrap themselves in bubble wrap and never leave home again. I've seen other reviews about cleanliness issues, but our room was spotless. I even wore white socks the first day and they didn't pick up dirt so I can't speak to others' experiences. It wasn't mine. The property is huge, and we were located at the far end. However, walking to the main pool and restaurant area was maybe 7-8 minutes total; people complaining that they had to wait for a golf cart pick-up should definitely never go to Vegas where it takes 30 min. to get from casino floor to room. Lacking a disability, no reason you can't walk. Yes, the beach isn't much of a beach, but if you read anything about the resort before booking, you would know this and stay elsewhere. Yes, it's expensive and they put a hold on your card at check-in which you'd know if you read the directions. Why not 5 stars? 2 gripes. 1-ply toilet paper. Really? That's just being cheap. Also, pools aren't heated. Maybe that's standard in PR, I don't know. But if the sun isn't directly overhead, you're not getting in. I would have liked to swim at night but nope, it's a bummer because the pools are amazing. Shout out to Steve at the pool bar, he's the best.

Really nice resort and staff. Plenty of space around pool and beach areas to not feel crowded. Resort fees at the end when booking through 3rd party so keep that in mind... came as a surprise for us. Restaurants were great, but they are only open on some days/times.

The property is absolutely beautiful and well-maintained. The views of the rainforest were gorgeous. While we never had an issue grabbing an uber the resort is about 45 mins from San Juan with an average $50/way cost. It was probably the largest "regular" room I've seen in a resort. The breakfast buffet was 2-star and pricey. We tried to Sandlot to play topgolf. It was fun with typical bar food. The ocean was amazing and warm. We never felt the property was crowded, although we saw at least two large parties of people and a bus full of soccer players. Most staff were good, nothing over the top. 1-2 staffers could have used an attitude adjustment, but nothing that would keep me from going back. Overall I would visit again and consider a large family vacation.

Our family of 3, soon to be 4, loved our 5-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve. The main pool was the highlight. The beachfront area with the chairs was nice as well, soft sandy areas and not too much seaweed. The landscaping and scenery of the whole property was relaxing, beautiful, and photogenic. The staff is great overall, and the staff of the main pool area is the best, especially Steve who made us feel welcome and accommodated. At the towel station they have daily activities for kids and floaties and life vests to borrow. The breakfast buffet was amazing although our 6yr old was not impressed. It is a lot of walking from the room to different areas on the property but we are from NYC so we were used to it. You can call ahead for a golf cart pickup. For the length of our stay I was glad we rented a car, to get out of the sun for an afternoon activity in between our morning swims and night swims. There is a fun mall not too far called Outlet 66, and we went to the forts in Old San Juan. But the night swims in the main pool will be some of our favorite memories, with the night sounds of the coquis. Our room was also great, we loved the large tub next to the shower, the living area next to the bed, and the balcony. We had a solid casual dinner our first night at the SandTrap, and the steak at the Steakhouse was perfection. I also did an express mani/pedi at the rainforest spa and they were so kind there. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay.
