I made a reservation at Bally's Lake Tahoe at the last minute. We went to the room and the moment we opened the door it was a squeaky door, kind of belonging to 100 years ago. The bathroom was almost empthy. No cup if you wanted to rinse your mouth, or no garbage can in the toilet. The shower looked so old and the water was coming out so little that it took us a long time to wash our body. The soap was a small, very thin, square shape that would be enough for one person a day. No fan inside the toilet!! Empathy refrigerator, no snack, or any water bottles/ soda!! The pillows were so small and a very very thin blanke and there was no extra blanket if you needed.

Spacious room. Clean surrounding. Check in process was 30-40 mins. Terrible bell hop service. They don't let you use the luggage cart with a bell hop. They only have one bell hop on duty for this big hotel. Waited 1 hr for our bags to be delivered. Great Vallet service

Unfortunately this time around not the best. Usually Ballys is one of our favorites but this occasion customer service was unfriendly, we could never get a hold of front desk via phone.. it's just kept ringing and holding music, room was stuff and the king size bed we requested was def more a queen size. Last day power was shut off due to a power generator they needed to fix but it was very inconvenient when it came to getting ready with no power. Was a bit disappointed this time around.

The place is well-located to the center of South Lake Tahoe action. It works. The room is updated. The cafe is always crowded with a forty-five-minute wait. The fine dining is excellent, with super service. The room had only 3 pillows and very weak lights. Service was poor with a request for a light bulb replacement never being honored (three-day wait.)

There was trash throughout the hotel. No room service. They charge a $30 resort fee along with $25 a night parking. Their parking gates didn’t work. The last day we were there, they posted the night before they were shutting off power at 8:00 am the next morning for maintenance. They offered lanterns for guests.

Ruined our vacation
I booked for a 2 queen bed room. When I checked in, the front desk gave me room 972. The room was right next to the elevator, and we were hearing the loud elevator sound all day, all night. We found some cracker crumbles on a chair, super dirty coffee machine, and hairs in the restroom when we entered the room. I called the front desk and request for changing the room, and the person I talked said that since I booked the hotel through 3rd party(hotels.com), she can not change the reservation. I said I am not asking to change the reservation, I just want to switch the room because the noise was super bothering. She then said all rooms are fully booked so there was nothing she could do. Ok, I understand that all the rooms are fully booked, but what I do not like was her attitude. She sounded super rude, and hated her job. Why I am paying the same amount of money like other guests but I had to suffer from the loud noise for 4 nights? She could offer something, like discount or some kind of compensation, but no, she was rude the whole time while we were having conversation. I understand she was busy, but that does not mean she could be rude to guests. The family vacation supposed to be great, but this hotel ruined our vacation. The hotel should not even offer that room to any customers....this was ridiculous.

Everything is breaking down. We were first checked-in to a room where technician was repairing things. We needed to change to another room. The elevator had issues. There's no room service. Arcade has malfunctioning games. When we checked out, the system was down. We also had been hearing other guests complaining about this and that throughout our stay. All small things though, but added up means something is going wrong with the management. They seemed to be extremely understaffed. However, they really put a lot of efforts to ruin customers' experience at the pool. They don't let people use the hot tub because maximum capacity is reached. However, the capacity seems unreasonable because there's still a lot of room. Same thing for the pool. They are very strict about timing. The pool closes at 8pm but everybody need to get out 5 minutes earlier. They have several security guys walking around the pool shouting at people: 20 minutes until closing! 10 minutes and then everybody needs to get out! 5 minutes and everybody gets out now! For the people in the hot tub, they even turn off the jacuzzi every time so that people would pay attention. That really spoils everyone's mood. Literally, everyone was complaining! There were quarrels between the guests and the staff members everyday! Overall, I'm not coming back to this place. Something must had gone wrong with the minds of the managements. This place should be shut down!
