Greybeard is a custom-built vacation home on a private, ½-acre wooded lot. This unique property was completely rebuilt in 2015 and has been upgraded to include every modern comfort & technology, while keeping its classic1980s charm.
There's abundant natural light and air -- every room has several windows and/or skylights. Surrounding the house on three sides are over 750 ft² of illuminated boardwalks, stairways, and wood decks that seem to float out into the forest. Forced-air central heat and A/C, double-glazed windows, insulating open-cell privacy blinds, and foam insulation ensure year-round comfort.
On the main level is a roomy kitchen and dining area that can accommodate from 2-6 guests and overlooks the multi-level rear deck. In the soaring living room, sink into the leather furniture and enjoy a built-in entertainment system with 55" LG Smart TV and fiber-optic WiFi. Easy plug-ins if you choose to use your own streaming or gaming device. And stream music from your own Bluetooth device on the soundbar. Spend an evening curled up in front of the cozy, eco-friendly electronic fireplace.
The downstairs bedroom is in its own wing with direct access to the rear deck. This amazing sanctuary has 6 windows and a skylight, yet remains completely private even when the blinds are open. Custom built cabinets provide plenty of storage. The Stern & Foster pillow top queen mattress delivers a great night's sleep and a ceiling fan.
Up the circular staircase, you'll find another amazing bedroom that overlooks the treetops. This light-filled aerie has a queen-size Tempur Pedic adjustable mattress, a 32" Samsung "The Frame" Smart TV. Easy plug ins if you choose to use your own streaming or gaming device, an opening skylight, a custom-built desk and closet.
The spacious bathroom has under-floor heating, a large walk-in shower, and vanity. (Please note that the bathroom is adjacent to the kitchen.)
There's off-street parking for three vehicles.
Just steps from the door is a little-known open space with over 600 acres of pine forest, wildlife, and hiking trails with views of the Swan Mountains and Glacier National Park in the distance.
A large store, coffee hut, and gas station are just four blocks away; Super 1 and Safeway supermarkets are a 10-minute drive. Historic downtown Whitefish is a short 10 minute drive, Big Mountain Ski Area is 20 minutes, Glacier National Park is 30 minutes, Glacier International Airport is 15 minutes, and the North Kalispell shopping area (Costco, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, etc.) is 10 minutes south.
For your comfort and security, a home automation system provides keyless PIN entry, programmable central heat & air conditioning, automated exterior lighting, a programmable safe for valuables and smoke/Co2 alarms.
