A different experience than expected!
This hotel is beautiful and the staff really know how to treat their guests. We had a terrible start as our car hit a pothole around a mile away from the hotel bursting 2 tyres. The hotel offered to have food waiting in our room as we would unfortunately be arriving later in the evening. We didn't get to experience the hotel at all like we wanted to because of this incident. But from the hotels perspective, they gave us a lift back to the car late in the evening and generally was lovely with us. Best sleep we have had in a hotel, really peaceful and comfortable and the hotel and grounds are beautiful, very classy!

Stay was lovely. Great staff. Lovely if a bit pricey food. All in all a great stay. Knocked down a star as no usb sockets. We thought it'd most likely have them so didn't stock up! Just one or two in the room would be helpful

Nice view from the dining room and the bar. Good evening meal Breakfast self service containers were placed much too high on the bar. These would cause problems for anyone of normal height. They caused great difficulties for my wife who is partially disabled.

Two night stay at Aldwark
Aldwark is an excellent hotel . Refurbished the rooms are well furnished with good quality furniture. Breakfast was great, good quality ingredients . Day 1 was buffet service, and the food/plates weren't't very warm. Day 2 it was waiter service with hot, first class ingredients. Our evening meal in Elements was very enjoyable. Great steak, which was extremely well cooked.Downsides - no A/C, and window restrictors which only allowed a small volume of air in. Duvets were summer duvets, and far too hot, which meant we were too hot overnight. Also small touches were overlooked. We were given 3 hangers, there was no mirror adjacent to the hair dryer, the shower had no shelf for shampoo/soap etc.Room lighting was poor, dark shades and too dark to read comfortably. Would we stay again - yes but not during summer months.

Wonderful hotel
Beautiful location, surrounded by a great golf course. Rooms were well appointed, very clean and comfortable, with nice extra touches (Molton Brown toiletries, bathrobes etc). Good dinner and wonderful breakfast with quality ingredients and a good range of choices. Excellent service and lovely staff - we returned for a second night a few days later and a welcome back card and gift was waiting in our room.
