Carpeting needs replacing. Heat and air unit was excessively noisy. Pet friendly came with a price that was not pre-announced (friendly at a cost so to speak).

Decent stay if you don't mind the smell
While the staff was very friendly and the room was clean, this "nonsmoking" room smelt so badly of cigarette smoke, I almost left to find a different hotel. While everything else was fine for an overnight stay on a road trip, I would not stay here again due to the heavy cigarette smell.

I stay at this hotel when hiking in the New River Gorge because it's a great location to access trails, there's a restaurant and bar on site, the rooms are clean and comfortable, it's easy to get to, and the town of Fayetteville is a short and easy drive away for more restaurants and bars.

The location was central, has an on-site bar and restaurant, and a good free continental breakfast in the gift shop from 6:30-10:00 am! Will definitely stay here the next time I visit New River Gorge. The wings at the restaurant are 🔥!!!

Staff at checkin was not the friendliest, although they did change our room when we told them the microwave was not working; and the woman attending the breakfast area was pleasant and kept the breakfast items well stocked. We were given 2 card keys, but only 1 worked, and in the morning, it was deactivated before checkout, so we had to go to the front desk to reactivate it. This took 2 trips to the office since the 1st attempt did not work! The room was OK (beds fine) with plenty of amenities and the heater was not noisy; plenty of ice at machine.
