I will have fond memories of this trip and this house, where we spent quality time with our family of 4 couples. While this house is not "modern", it had all the conveniences of a modern home, down to pull out kitchen cabinets. I have never experienced a house, particularly of this age, so impeccably clean - you could eat off the floors! And I wouldn't call it old as much as I'd call it "antique" - brimming with beautiful furniture accents. There were large and separate rooms for us to enjoy solitude when we sought it, as in the cozy library brimming with classics to historically significant newspapers, or for the six of us to join together when we wanted in the woodburning stove living room. As an avid cook, I found the kitchen had EVERYTHING I needed, and the KitchenAid stovetop and oven (yes, I cooked in the oven) were quality - they just don't make them like they used to! The beds were extremely comfortable, the linens - quality. Our dog never felt so at home away from home, with a little patch of nature out back that she liked to walk in. We skied at Stratton the entire weekend and found the 25-minute drive very convenient and scenic. The proximity to the Equinox and other spots within walking distance, and the short drive to restaurants, Shaws market, the outlets, etc. make this the perfect location. I have to stress the cleanliness again! We all loved this house, including my young adult children!
