My sister and I really enjoyed our stay at Amazing Grace. Of the places we have stayed in this 40-mile vicinity over the past several years, this is the first we feel compelled to return to.
The proprietors, Mike and Wanda, were friendly and gracious hosts during our stay and regularly checked to ask if there was anything we needed. The cabin was very clean and in order on arrival and had everything we needed, including the grill, which we put to good use. It was also a really nice space - - a lot of cool vintage items like games, records, books, etc., that added character, the beds were comfortable (a must for me), and we loved the two sitting areas – one inside and one outside – each had two comfy seats and a view of the lake. The grounds were nice, too . . . we were too lazy to play shuffleboard . . . maybe next time!
White Birch Lake and Ballard Lake (to which it is connected) were beautiful - if your definition of beauty is a scattering of homes, mostly state land, beautiful tree lines, loon nests, low noise, and sense of the unspoiled. We explored both lakes almost every day with our boat. The vegetation is fantastic and supports a healthy fish population. We enjoyed catching and releasing bass, crappie, and muskie during our stay.
I’m really glad Mike and Wanda found this place and opened it for us to visit. Great place; really nice people.
