Found this room last minute when we were trying to find accommodations in nearby Cedar City. Tacit Shadow "Shangri-La" showed it was available. I booked the room, as it showed it could accommodate 4 people. I stayed here with two of my children, so there were only 3 of us that stayed overnight.
Booking was simple. The owner was quick in his replies to my booking and then text messages we exchanged. There was some confusion on the actual address, as it would not pull up in Google maps, but I was sent the valid address via text along with a link for directions. This helped us find our way to the property without issue.
Upon arrival, there were several men in the kitchen area cooking dinner. I thought they may be the owners, but they were not. One man directed us to the room I had booked when I asked where we were to go. Once inside the room, the scent of the meal the men in the kitchen was heavy in the air, so I opened the double doors to allow fresh air inside and did so for awhile before the scent dissipated. There were two cats immediately outside our room, and once we opened the door to air the room out, one cat promptly came inside and tried to walk around. I am highly allergic to cats and had to shoo it outside quickly.
We set up beds for the night. Things got cramped space-wise. The king bed takes up the center of the room space, so I placed the 2 tri-fold mattresses on both sides of the bed. This left little room to maneuver about once set up in this fashion, leaving only a small area along the foot of the bed to move. There is nowhere to sit in the "Shangri-La" room other than on the king bed itself, as no chairs are in the room. If you want to sit somewhere, one must exit the room entirely via the double doors & onto the patio to find chairs available there.
The extra mattresses were spotted & stained in a few places that I saw. I used both sets of packaged/sealed sheets to place on the mattresses, & the provided blanket, pillow, & pillow case. My kids fell asleep quickly on their tri-fold mattresses, yet I found the king bed too firm & uncomfortable for my liking, even for a pillow top. I did not sleep well at all, unfortunately.
The bathroom was clean & orderly. The shower is very narrow, which made for a tight fit.
Overall, this is a nice room. If I were to stay here again, I may choose a different room if I had the same number of people just for added space. The "Shangri-La" will fit 2 people comfortably, in my opinion.
