Mice! Woke up at midnight to find one chewing its way into one of our bags. They were hiding out under the mini fridge. I can only imagine what it looks like under it…
After we had turned on the lights, they continued to run around on the floor. Enough said.
Also, room had two queen beds. Both had sagging-in-the middle, mattress’s. Horrible.
Gentleman in the front office moved us to another room. Good enough room where we felt comfortable enough to finish the night as there isn’t any other place to stay up on the Mesa. Checked out the next morning and requested a full refund. Between the lodge & Expedia, it was promptly refunded, in full.
Haunta Virus is a serious risk from deer mice. Interesting on how a national park and Aramark can get away with the lack of cleanliness, safety and health conditions of their accommodations, not only for the public but for the staff as well.
From other reviews on this place, others had mice issues as well. Take the reviews seriously, we wished we had. What a disappointing way to ruin our retirement celebration, with our first road trip.
Would not recommend staying at Far View Lodge.
The rest of the sights on Mesa Verde, are amazing though! Must see!
