Decent overall, however some things could be improved. 1. If bringing a dog, expect essentially no areas for them to go to the bathroom unless you hike up and down a steep hill to get to a grassy area EVERY time. 2. Hot tub cover is terrible, is broken and falling apart. Hot tub had small pieces of styrofoam in the surface from the cover. Really needs to be replaced. 3. Rugs are disgusting. Rug in bathroom got your feet dirty when jumping out of shower. We did wash it and it was better, but pretty sure it had not been done since it was placed there as it was basically stuck to the floor. 4. Neighborhood is trashed. Trash everywhere including beer cans, bottles, broken glass, etc. 5. People walked their dogs to the only tiny clear spot not on a hill adjacent to the parking area of our cabin and left their dog’s feces behind. So ours weren’t able to go there, and we weren’t picking up other people’s mess. 6. A pretty far drive from anywhere time-wise. Distance doesn’t seem far, but 1 mile there takes longer as it’s all winding roads, poor visibility around curves, and slow moving. If you want to go while there instead of just being in the cabin, plan for long drives to get everywhere. Beds were ok, not the most comfortable but not the absolute worst. Plenty of room.

Great weekend trip
The cabin is really nice. Lots of space and super comfy. Only complaints are the roads to get to it and it’s pet friendly, but there’s no grass. PACman didn’t work and the puck for air hockey was missing. My group played pool for hours though. We loved it!

Super Nice Mountain Cabin!
This was a super nice 3 story home. It was clean when we got there and very spacious. The hot tub was clean and very big, and there was plenty of sleeping space for everyone. The view off the back porch was beautiful as well. Highly recommend staying here!

Cozy family getaway
We loved this cabin very much! The view was amazing. Everything was as beautiful as the pictures. Our dog did break a window blind, but Vacasa handled it very quickly and assured us that it was covered by our damage waiver/insurance. That meant a lot less stress for me, so we could just relax and enjoy! The only thing I would add is more mugs (and plastic cups for kids). We didnt have enough for all of us to enjoy cocoa and cookies by the fire. :) We couldnt have asked for a more beautiful area to visit and hike! Thank you for a wonderful family getaway!

Don’t stay at Above The Smokies
Cabin was not clean. Furniture was broken, couldn’t sit on one end of the couch, you would slide right off. No water pressure in the showers. Gas grill did not work. Coffee pot didn’t work either, they did bring a new one. And there were mice that my husband saw in the kitchen.

Happy to be able to bring our dog. Pros: Hot Tub, pool table, probably will see a bear (saw one twice). Cons: cleaning floors could be better but nothing was bad. A place for the family to stay that has 2 bunk beds on lowest level and can bring the pet too.

The cabin was nice.The cleaning was terrible.We stayed 3 nights.Check in and out was good.When we arrived and unpacked our belongings,we noticed that the unit was not cleaned properly from previous stay.Pet hair was everywhere.The upstairs and downstairs bed liners never was changed from previous stay.We opened the sofa bed in living room to find dog food and bugs stuck through out the entire sofa bed.Mirror in bathroom still had old toothpaste and water marks from previous stay. Refrigerator in the lower area by the bar had frozen beer busted everywhere, Call for housekeeping to come out.They came out to bring new liners and clean sofa bed(was not expecting to have to put liners on 3 beds on vacation after a long drive). The view on the cabin was really nice but the cleaning is awful.THE CLEANING CREW REALLY NEEDS TO IMPROVE.

Weekend get away
We came for a birthday weekend getaway. It was great place it was a little smaller than we expect on the main level but the lower level had plenty room. The area was great especially since the morning we were packing to head home we unkowningly walked right out the front door and into a bear by our cars. It was exciting and we scrambled to get back in the house. We scared him just as much as he scared us. He came back for a second look about 5 mins later. Made a very memorable weekend just what we wanted. We would go back even though the cleaning could use some detailing.

I don’t know where to start. The reviews I read before I booked were mostly good. Not now.
First of all I was charged two cleaning fees. One for a regular cabin cleaning. The other was because I brought a small dog. The cabin was filthy. Dust everywhere, and the cob webs were so bad it looked like Disneys Haunted Mansion. I booked this cabin because it had a fireplace and a hot tub. Neither one we’re working. Maintenance came out. Couldn’t fit it and that was that. I brought food to cook… could not cook one thing. Rat feces covered every item in the Cabinets. I have been trying to get compensation from VRBO since Friday. And never book through VRBO with Vacasa. I sent pictures of the condition of this cabin and am still waiting for a response. I book with VRBO many times a year and have never made a complaint. Let’s see if they step up and make this right. This cabin could be beautiful, but it’s management company is an absentee company that is being ripped off by their cleaning crew and evidently does not inspect this cabin before their paying guests arrive. I’m not sure why the reviews I read before booking were good. This was a horrible experience. This was our Christmas gift to our two small grandchildren. I spent the entire time dealing with this mess. Sunday was cold and rainy.. no fireplace, no hot tub. My grandson suffers with asthma and the dust and rat feces in this cabin we’re horrible. The showers too we’re filthy. There are two many other great cabins to choose from. I I sent many pictures to Vacasa and VRBO. I called VRBO yesterday and was told that my case is being reviewed. Really? They should reimburse me for this cabin and send a voucher for another stay. We will see what VRBO does. Do not book through Vacasa.

SADLY DISSAPOINTED!! Know before you go!
Firstly, we booked via VRBO but ended up dealing with a company called VACASA...if this happens to you and you have issues be prepared to LOSE A LOT OF MONEY. These rentals are expensive and they love to take your money but don't like fully refunding as we are finding out. DO NOT expect this cabin to sleep more than 4 adults comfortably. We expected it would sleep 10 adults. The sleeper beds were either broken or sagging and just awful to sleep on. We arrived at 11pm our first night and those who were on sleeper sofas got little to no sleep. In the morning we noticed the ceiling fan CAKED with dust. Lots of cobwebs ruined window views. The floor was buckled in the basement which is a hazard ( our daughter tripped twice). The kitchen/family room was quite small for our party~ but that I expected that from the photos. The grill had grease all over the outside of it. There were not enough towels. Low water pressure. No broom or dustpan. We had had high hopes for this cabin from the online reviews ~and it could have been awesome. The 2 bedrooms were very nice, the drive up was exciting and the views were AMAZING from the back porch. Sadly none of this made up for the fact that we could not stay here. We planned this family trip for Thanksgiving but when we realized sleep would not be happening we called to discuss options and decided we had to relocate. They had nothing to offer. This was super stressful as we already unpacked everything the night we arrived. For the money I put out to make this a special Thanksgiving vacation this was unacceptable. We work hard and feel like we got ripped off. On a happy note we were able to find a private cabin rental which saved our Thanksgiving reunion.

Easter Get Away
Overall the property was exactly what we were seeking for a get away. Description of amenities was spot on, pool table and games were a great option for our family with 3 teens as was the hot tub. The only drawback for our family was the property was a top a large hill so unable to easily stroll around for a daytime/evening walk or walk our senior dog on location. This was out first time in the area and enjoyed our time so expect we will be back!

Great Family spring break getaway
We had a great time on our trip! There were 6 of us in the cabin and it was perfect for us! The kids loved the basement with the pool table, air hockey and arcade. We loved sitting on the porch and enjoying the view. The cabin was clean and very well stocked with everything we could need. The only 2 minor issues- we couldn't get the TV to turn on in the main floor master. Also, the outlets near the bathroom sinks in both bathrooms would not work. Not big issues, but something to look into! We very much enjoyed our trip!

Great place. Exactly as it was advertised.
I will definitely come back to this place. Good place to buy groceries is Food City which is about 10 min towards Gatlinburg. If snow is present I suggest driving an AWD car as the hills are a little steep. Overall great experience.
